After reading this drivel I am very upset at my inability to express my loathing for everything you people love in life this past week.... get your crap together so we can lose to you in 3 sets while I rant about how much I hate all of it. Not sure I ever expected to see you in this thread. I do feel really dirty.... like I just got short selling MyPillow stock

I'm curious to see whether they'll reschedule the Michigan matches?

I am hopeful with another year under their belt the strong sophomore class, combined with some transfers, will allow them to do better than fourth. Granted on paper, 4th in the B1G looks right for them. Hoping team chemistry and having an answer for the loss of KW will allow them to exceed expectations. Don't be surprised if that answer is Maddy Bilinovic. Imo she's top 5 in her class at the position (with Monson, Oglivie, Iosia and McKissock). After a good freshman year, Hampton struggled in 2019 - only managing a good pass percentage of 47% good pass percentage (Holcomb was 53%, White was 59%). Obviously how much practice time they get will dictate things, but I wouldn't be shocked if Bilinovic takes the jersey right out of the gate. Although Hampton was slated as the starting libero, this was a good call; Maddy had a good night.

White did most the work last year. It wasn’t like Hampton was the all BIG libero last year or anything. White shouldered the mass majority of work. So who knows what happens there. When it comes to setter Emily filled in better then I expected but I still think blossom is the better setter. I like her sets better and I think she is the better defensive setter still with digs. Just my opinion. Emily seems a little more agressive but given the choice I’d still take blossom. ACF seems like she gonna be fun to watch this year.

She may have very well been psu most important player last year. Hampton hasn’t earned any of that. Maybe she can. Who knows but it wouldn’t shock me if Maddie became the possible starter this year. What would shock me is blossom not being starting setter

Smh.
Blossom and Hampton are the starters.
Their backups did their job last night and the coaches did an excellent job preparing them.
Throughout the country, depth will be more crucial than in any other year due to Covid.

I’m assuming it will be same lineup tonight or is their any word that any of those players will be back tonight?

Quote from Russ Rose interview on 2/5/21, "It’s good to know that we can have Emily [Oerther] in there — maybe give us some 6-2 opportunities when we get some of the other hitters back. We obviously didn’t have all of our hitters. Lauren [Clark’s] one of our key offensive players."
I'm curious to see who Clark replaces. I'm guessing Kurdyashova, not ACF. If so, we will have a trio of starting pins all 6' or under. Also, Blossom should be back this weekend, but is slightly shorter than Oerther. Minny will feast on PSU's undersize blockers.

The last 5 days have been an excellent reminder of why I hate sports.
And I think we're about to witness the first time Penn State ever misses the women's v-ball tournament. So... F everything.

Look on the bright side, at least Stanford, the only other D1 school to make an appearance in every tournament, will also miss it.
