Was wondering given the circumstances if it may be prudent to switch to the international ball. It typically has a more durable surface to continuously wipe down. That could be a huge shift for the ball manufacturers but given the times... Wonder if the wipes would effect the Flistatec ball as well?

Of course it's not a hard blueprint for a national AAU tournament or a two team August pre-HS friendly match or anything else. It's merely a set of guidelines (probably driven by their insurance underwriter) that are stacked atop a slipping, messy pile of local, state and federal guidelines.
But it does serve some clear purposes: CYA liability defense ("Hey, we gave guidance.") as well as actual helpful things that small tourney organizers might not have thought of. If you're in some small town and want to have a few schools over this summer it's as good a starting point as any: - Staggered starts should mean nothing more than sticking an extra 10-15 minutes in between games to allow more space/time to clear the teams from the area and prep the courts for the next game. - Rely on hand signals rather than whistles where possible, such as for Begin Serve. - It clarifies that you only need to "[r]emove anyone from a club activity if they exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms." Not suspend the team, or all teams, but just the player.
Anyway, it is what it is and there's enough other movement in other layers that things will change, change and change again as events unfold.

#CancelTheSeason NLQ and MEQ cancelled... only 1 or 2 more on the books. Let’s plan for tryouts for 2020/21 and start group and private training sessions at the clubs to get back in shape and get coaches and clubs back to work There are a few states who run their club tryouts in July (right after nationals). Wonder if they are going to push them back?

This leaves me wondering where club directors and facilities (as well as the individual player, since they must be responsible for their own personal supply of hand sanitizer, I’m sure) are going to find enough hand sanitizer/wipes/, etc to maintain compliance with the sanitizing procedures? (Actually, I’m wondering a number of things, but this is one of the top thoughts. ) Ironically, my DD has a drawer full of hand sanitizer she got at tournaments as team gifts =)

Instead of using a million wipes for the balls just have a bunch of extra balls on hand. Swap them out between games and wash them at a central station. This is a great idea. And disinfecting items does not have to relegated to simply bleach like products. Ozone and UV lights are frequently deployed in settings where one cannot wipe down every surface. If it doesn't exist already someone should work on a disinfecting cabinet utilizing one or both of these methods. You could swap sets of balls out, not sure what the processing time would be and that might be a hurdle but it's something to think on. In fact I think ozone can possibly be diluted with water (in chemical form) and may be safer for surfaces than bleach wipes. I wonder if that would be a viable alternative to the oxidative stress that bleach creates on anything it contacts.

As a club director in our own facility, I started ordering hand sanitizer in March from a variety of sources. Started arriving earlier in May and have about 5 gallons in right now (and several orders still pending). Wipes to sanitize volleyballs is another story. Those haven't been around. Even when you get the gallon bottles you have to find pumps to screw in (those have been hit or miss to find). For pumps try beauty supply stores like Ulta or Sally's . May not fit perfectly but you can probably MacGyver it or just put it in the shampoo bottles that the pumps fit. I tried Sally's when I was first looking around... ordered and then they canceled the order the next day. Found some on Amazon. They may be coming back into stock now though. That was in March.

Is the only qualifier still left Lone Star? They just sent their cancellation out a few minutes ago. There goes the season and nationals.

They just sent their cancellation out a few minutes ago. There goes the season and nationals. What does this have to do with nationals? Directly? Nothing. Indirectly it says “this just isn’t feasible, responsible....” for me that question was answered 6 weeks ago. How many of the national qualifiers and regional bid tournaments were cancelled?
