Origami mask www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2727955233982406I was at Costco yesterday. Half the meat case was empty, but they still had the rotisserie chicken and the vacuum packed rotisserie chick breat eat available, Aren't 50% of the new Corona Virus cases in the US related to meat packing plants? No wonder shortages are developing.

Been to Costco, Ikea and some shopping malls over the 3 days weekend in Shanghai. Crazy crowded, back to normal so to speak. Everyone is still wearing masks and we noticed they've stopped taking temps going into the store/mall...except for Apple and Costco. Even so, Apple was not keeping a record and Costco used the temp sensor camera to scan for potential problems.

Costco used the temp sensor camera to scan for potential problems. As a bonus, it will also detect if any replicant androids try to sneak in.

If you catch COVID, they'll throw in a nasty case of norovirus for free! Is there a worse incubator for this than a cruise ship?

Me! LOL! Honestly, I've been on lots and lots of cruises -- with the whole family and also with just the wife -- and they've offered the best travel experiences for us. Pluses: Unlimited buffet all day and at any time Exercise room Library room -- if you want to read Internet access (you may need to pay for this) Large ship to walk around in Great shore excursions Beautiful view of the ocean in the dining rooms Broadway-style musical shows -- lots and lots of singing and dancing Lectures on a wide variety of topics You pack and unpack only ONCE -- preboard (at home) and pre-disembark (in your room) -- before the trip and after the trip. No need to check in to a new hotel every couple of days or rent a car. Even pre-COVID19, their health protocol has been top notch. They're constantly cleaning -- mopping floors, wiping counters, wiping handrails, etc. They've got hand sanitizers all over the frikkin' place. I suppose it helps that we're healthy people. We use the exercise room or run laps around the ship. We're in tip-top shape. None of us have ever gotten sick on a cruise or have witnessed anyone else getting sick. Obviously, if you have some health issues, cruises may not be a good idea. First, you have to be able to get around. Second, people with underlying health conditions are more vulnerable to viruses.

I like cruises too, except when the sea is really rough. That was miserable.
But, yes, they are great incubators. The midnight buffet is also a bad idea.

For my home videos of our cruise vacations, I used "The Love Boat Theme" in the montages for the title and end credits sections. LOL!
(Yes, in my home movies, I have a title sequence as well as an end credits sequence.)

Some social distancing can be maintained on a cruise ship. Tropical cruises in theory would be a better choice since open air activities would be more plentiful.

I mean, if everyone stays in their room, yes. But the whole point of a cruise is hundreds of strangers from all over the place congregate in a small, enclosed space for a week with tons of interaction, and then head back to where they came from.

I also used this in my end credits sequences. It was for our Mexico cruise.

Well, there are lots of people but you never feel crowded. You can easily separate yourself from the herd by at least 6 ft. Also, lots of old folks populate cruises, so most of them are in their rooms (or "cabins" or "staterooms," as they like to call them). In the public areas, they're pretty open and spacious. Finally, if you elect to stay on the ship while the ship is docked at some port, most people are out on the town in shore excursions so the ship is practically empty. You've got it all to yourself.
