This reminds me of the person who sued McDonalds for spilling their coffee on themselves and being burned. They did win, but I believe a large part was that McDonalds heated their coffee substantially higher than acceptable to keep it fresh longer to save money. Because they kept that from customers (didn’t label the cups) they lost. Did AAU keep anything from players? I’d imagine if someone walked into McDonalds right now and caught Covid they couldn’t sue because everything is common knowledge. I’d love for a lawyer to correct me and explain. AAU hosted a tournament in the epicenter of a world wide pandemic. AAU proved to the country they care more for money than for athletes. For that reason they should be sued out of business. AAU pretty much made you sign your life away to attend this event, (waiver acknowledging covid-19 can be potentially fatal and by attending you are assuming those risks) so I am not sure what grounds anyone would be suing on.

So far the "unscientific posting poll" is four allegedly positive tests. Out of 6000 participants that is 0.00067%...and folks are ready to sue and bankrupt AAU. 4 out of 6000 is 0.067% — you don’t just divide and then slap a “per-100” sign at the end of the value.

No matter where you throw the decimal, pretty low!

As others (and you) noted, though, we have no actual survey of those 6000 people. Put simply, we don't know whether this small number has any meaning.

As has been pointed out, there's a whole bunch of other communicable diseases that you can get at a volleyball tournament. Corona shouldn't be any different--assuming that they complied with the state regulations/didn't force players to do anything extra risky (other than what was already known), I can't see any suit against them winning.

My club sent 1 team down, 10 players, 4 coaches and 10 parents, zero cases and in fact they all felt very safe at event. Director stated he wished they would of sent more teams to play...

On the boys side, at least 5 clubs representing multiple states have reported no new cases, and also said similar that the tournament was well run, organized and everyone felt safe.
