Go check the trans athlete thread on the volleyball board. I clearly don't mind getting called names by people on this board. There weren't people behind him. He could've backed out of the crowd. Or he needed to have better control of his car to slowly push through the crowd. I have watched almost every video angle, and no one can determine if there were people behind him or not. Should a policeman have to sit there and try to figure out how to drive out of the mob? Are we that far gone that we now expect policeman to avoid violence? Think about that. He literally backs up right before going forward.

A) No one can determine if there were people behind him B) Everybody is absolutely sure (including the driver) that there was a mob of people in front of him How is going backward not the right answer?

Because now we try to find solutions for even the police, to avoid them. In the meantime businesses are destroyed, property is damaged. What damn disaster. I guess I need to re-think what the police should do now with their life. I guess doing police work is not the answer anymore. They’re there to just drive around in their car?

Because he probably thought there were people back there in his way.

Overwhelming use of tear gas, rubber bullets, flash bangs and other non-lethal crowd control devices. And obviously arrests. I know there are people on here who didn't like how those things were used over the summer or maybe even on January 6th, but that's how you stop rioters. Not running over them with cars.

I guess he should’ve ran screaming from his car and let the mob have it? Or try to back up and possibly run over somebody? Do you see how dumb this sounds? And God for bid we just demand that people on the streets of Washington and Oregon start shaping up and acting like law biting citizens. That would be totally out of line.

He has a rear view mirror I drive a lot, more than I want to, it is extremely difficult to recognize what’s behind you even with mirrors. Especially when there’s a mob of people. But you continue finding fault with that police officer. I guess it would’ve pleased you guys more if he was beat to death by the mob instead of trying to save himself. Martyrs always look better in the press ?

To me that would make a big difference in how he reacted.

What these people did is also reprehensible. If you’re going to have a standard than have the same standard across the board. That’s the Democratic problem. They hate police and then they love the police. Depending on if it’s serving their political agenda.

I am not the one trying to make some sort of silly a$$ed comparison to make a point. That's you, hoolie/df/troll. That's why people grow so impatient of you. You make these comparisons over and over and over and over even though EVERYONE on this board tells you the SAME thing. I have yet to see anyone defend the violence. Stop with the stupid comparisons. The only point you ever make is that you are too stupid to understand the individual situations.

There's an interview with one of the spectators who got hit. Not the one who got run over, but knocked down. komonews.com/news/local/protest-erupts-over-tacoma-police-car-driving-through-crowdSay what you will. I think he fully understood that the sideshow was illegal and that the police were likely to stop it. He didn't even know that a police vehicle was there and had his back turned. He did note that a fire truck came through with sirens earlier and the crowd let it through. He had no idea what was going on with the police vehicle until it hit him. He didn't even understand that it was a police vehicle. Once he and others saw that there was someone under the vehicle, they started yelling that there was someone underneath, but it kept on going anyways.

Yes because punks and thugs tell the truth when they’re interviewed by the police. This guy sounds so genuine.
