After last year, it's pretty silly to say that Bernie and Warren run the Democratic party (especially as Bernie isn't a Democrat). Nobody voted for Warren. Biden comfortably beat Bernie. The left got crushed. There may not be another serious lefty presidential candidate for 20 or 30 years.
Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are the Dem leaders in terms of who holds positions of leadership. In effect, Joe Manchin controls the Dem caucus in the Senate. None of those people are even particularly liberal, let alone on the bleeding edge left of the party.

I'm not even sure I'd put Warren as the most ideologically left senator not named Bernie.

n00b, I just don't know who in the Dem party compares to people like MTG, whatserface toting heat, Gaetz, Nunes, Gohmert, etc. etc.
I hate this equivalency. It's just not accurate.

Most scales of party/presidential allegiance in Congress give the award to Gillibrand, but that's not entirely a function of ideology as much as voting for or against the presidents policy.
Hirono might be up there.

In effect, Joe Manchin controls the Dem caucus in the Senate. Only in the "Muad'Dib can destroy the spice" sense.

Hirono might be up there. Right. I don't see loyalty to Democratic party legislation or policy as a good measure of how "left" someone is. One of those analyses had Kamala left of Bernie.
