Looks like you "missed" on two seeded teams and 1 at large? Great job considering the task at hand! I don't think anyone can put up an argument for Penn State to get seeded. Baylor getting a seed, I can live with it. Georgia Tech getting in - again I thought was completely acceptable. Especially if it had to come down to them or FSU, easily justifiable. But the lack of mention for Florida State clearly says: We were not going to take a 5th ACC team, period. It completely ignored the UCF win for Florida State. No reason Arkansas/Tennessee/K State should have been higher on the totem pole than FSU. If they're going to use the H2H argument for GT over FSU.. i don't know why Tennessee is not in this tournament. Mizzou beat ZERO tournament teams as well. Neither did Arkansas. I guess when you said Penn State was in the last four in, what the committee thought was that they were in the last four seeds.

I will defend this bracket - I think this is overall a good bracket. My biggest complaint by far - putting the PAC mostly in just 2 regions. Completely unnecessary. The best thing: 48 seeded teams, mostly neutral courts. Should be an awesome tournament and we should be VERY thankful this is going to get played and there will be a legitimate National Champion.
IMO - the committee's #1 priority for seeds was 'who do they think was the best team'. This is a complete departure and not really a bad criteria given the circumstances. There is no objective case to rate the Big Ten this high based on metrics only from this year - so they must have relied on the evaluators to rank the teams. This was not driven by 'merit/deserved' in terms of wins and losses and RPI ranking - this was driven primarily by who the evaluators thought were the best 16-20 teams in the country. These seeds probably best represent what the PABLO rankings would have looked like - unlike any other bracket from prior years.
Let us consider the last PABLO rankings and scores for the Big Ten:
1. Wisconsin (7220) 2. Minnesota (6230) 3. Nebraska (6190) 4. Purdue (6080) 5. Penn State (6030) 6. Ohio State (5655)
No one is arguing Wisconsin. But if you think the Big Ten is THIS good, and that Minnesota, Nebraska, and Purdue are really among the 7 or 8 best teams in the country - then it is not a stretch to think Penn State is the 13th best team in the country. They may not have deserved it - but it would appear the criteria for the seeds was who were the best teams (not who had the best resume). BTW, UCLA was 5th in the PAC according to the last PABLO - and they were the one left out of a seed. I suspect the evaluators saw what PABLO saw as it relates to the rest of the conference. And Washington was by far the most deserving of the PAC teams, but were only ranked 4th in the conference per PABLO and stands to reason the seed snub? I got the seeding projections wrong - as this wasn't the criteria I expected.
As for at-large - this was clearly conference quota based. Once Florida State was considered #5 in the ACC - they were toast and had no shot. Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kansas State were elevated by their conference - but the records weren't good enough to get in.
