Until we have a Middle Game it really doesn't matter who plays MB for Minnesota next fall. Does it?
I feel bad for Pittman. Deserved better recognition for her time at Minnesota than All American Honorable Mention. But we all know that her stats this season were down and was not something she had control of.

They can win with their pin hitters. They need middles who can block and provide occasional offense. They have those. I hope.

We may be looking at a 5th or 6th place B1G team this fall. I don’t see it.

If Landfair and Wenaas improve from their very solid freshman seasons, this will can be a solid team. Especially if y'all have a right side that can put the ball down in the front row. Shaffmaster will likely improve too.

One year exception in 2021 for # of scholies. Well that's stupid as hell. They let every single vball player who would've been enrolled and on teams in fall 2020, have an extra year of eligibility, right down to true freshman who were going to redshirt (defacto or truly needing it). That's going to create an extra year's worth of players for the next five seasons. I say: any player (in any sport!) who has earned an undergrad degree, and still has eligibility after five years running clock, all the rest of their seasons should not count against their teams' scholarship limits! This extra year is going to provide a lot of athletes the opportunity to explore opportunities at other schools -- athletically and academically. But not with scholarships, apparently.

I hope Pittman comes back and they can keep working on it.

Pitt beat us because of the offensive threat (and made good on the threat) out of the middle. Without that threat holding our middles (Rubright much more so), I think we have a much better chance.
Disagree with you all the way.

Just maybe not at their original school. And THAT is the opportunity for them.

I don't think that's why Pitt beat us. Barely.

Well, if she stayed, my understanding is that going forward that the school can provide scholarships to super-seniors without counting against the limit, provided they had that scholarship the year before. Or is that only a one time exception for 2021-22 school year? The senior exception is only for the 21-22 school year. Also it is only for your returning seniors. Senior transfers count against the limit.

She would probably be on the bench at Texas unless Skylar Fields got injured. Maybe Baylor? Texas also has Melanie Parra on the outside and Madison Williams who is a highly ranked 2020 OH recruit who was recovering this year from a high school ACL injury. Also currently Texas doesn't have an open ship for 2021. Baylor is returning both outsides (Pressley has said she is returning).

All the extra covid years for all these players -- other than just the would-have-been seniors in fall 2020 who will instead be super-seniors in fall 2021 -- will not be allowed to have a scholarship in those extra years unless they're "stealing" from that year's incoming class. Also it is only for your returning seniors. Senior transfers count against the limit. If the exception lived on for five years, then the following would be possible: Rollins transfers to wherever for her true senior year in fall 2021. Then she stays there for her super-senior year in fall 2022 -- and the rule would allow her to keep her scholarship without "stealing" it away from the incoming class that year.

Anybody worried that Wenaas might transfer also?
She has been posting some stuff on Instagram stories about how “god shouldn’t let you be in a place where you aren’t at your full potential” and “everything you’re doing now is to help the future”.
Not sure if it’s VBall related but I can imagine she probably didn’t want to play DS all year as the #3 OH recruit in the country...
Maybe she will get to play more OH next year now that Rollins is transferring? Thoughts?
