It is a well deserved honor to be selected to this training program and congratulations are in order for Alley, Lexi and Lindsay as well as the other players. That being said, Kennedi Orr being left off the list raises some questions. Is she healthy? Was she snubbed? In either case, this can just be seen as a bump in the road for a career that has and will contain many honors and opportunities. Knee is not ready.

Then I hope that her rehab goes well, and she makes a complete recovery. She's fine in a general sense with mobility and strength coming back, but they're not taking any chances.

I could see Sun, Kubik, Knuckles and Stivrins on the Olympic Team in 2024. Hate to break it to you but there’s a good chance the most Knuckles sees the court next year is as a serving specialist. Nothing personally against her but it’s likely that the libero jersey goes to either Rodriguez or Alana with the other being the primary DS for Krause. Hard to make an Olympic team when you barely get to play for your college team.

Just positive messaging for great young players. 13 of the current Olympic Team are B10 Alumni. The mentioned players, given 3 years of intense development, are Olympic prospects. They are top level B10 players. B10 is where many Olympians develop as young players. Stivrins and Sun for sure. Kubik and Kenzie have potential to improve and we just don't know. It will be up to them but they have the potential as they are Huskers and one can't underestimate the hearts of champions. I make the choice to see possibilities and promote them as they advance in their development.

Some years of B10 experience will help out Kenzie's chances. The Fall will be interesting when we see who starts and how they do. The gym will be competitive this summer and it will be up to the players to see who emerges. Knuckles is a favorite of mine as she gives her all and achieves great results. Is B10 play at a higher level of play than even the top HS and club scene? Let's hold on the breaking news until we see how the new players respond to B10 play. Nothing is written and we all have seen this scenario play out before with different players. Given the nature of the Husker program one thing is for sure. The players on the floor will have earned their spots and they will be outstanding.

So we had some discussion on here before about the USAV U20 team relating to Krause. Now we have that official release. Krause is joined by Batenhorst and Rodriguez on the roster. The training period is June 28-July 8 in Vegas, as if Sin City needed more volleyball during that time period. The 20-player training team is pared down to 12 for U20 Worlds from July 9-18. That training camp is going to be hell. Vegas in late June? I would never leave the hotel.

Everybody has a plan until they get hit in the face with 120 degree heat.

But it’s a dry heat..lol. That’s always what I am told..I HATE heat. Give me -20 over 90+ anytime. I spent 10 years in Houston..that is hell.

Or was your question rhetorical?

Yes rhetorical. We all know B10 is a higher level of play than HS/Club. Kenzie has 2 Big10 seasons and proven record of success. Let's see how things shape up over the summer in the Husker gym and who emerges as the libero. It's not certain now how things will go. This from a Kenzie fan but also a realist in that the top young players who will compete for a starting role may do it and win a spot from her.

Way too early to be speculating about 2024 Olympic team. Started by Husker fan fantasizing (is "fan" short for "fantasy" jj), but still way too early IMO. Let's celebrate the current team members accomplishments. Plenty for Husker fans to crow about there, and we have been.🤩
With respect to fall 2021, Huskers appear to have depth at all positions. Competition for playing time will be intense. That is especially true at the libero position. Personally I'm happy to wait and see what the competition brings. Wish all the players the best.
Glad I am not the coach that must decide who plays where and when. I find such decisions stressful, because they are all good players, work hard and deserving.

Quite a change going from being one injury away from playing a DS at OH or a Freshman Middle at Opp to possibly not having enough balls to go around. All-in-all, I prefer the latter problem over the former.
