I’m just picturing a bunch of husker fans with pitchforks and torches outside Tyler’s house, demanding vengeance lol

At least we have some information on Lauren's situation. Hope she gets well soon, and I hope to see her in the fall.

Just gonna casually drop this here... If Lauren isn't coming back, she will have a short-lived podcast with Nicklin.

(Sorry about the pessimism inherent here, but...)
How does it work when a college athlete gets hurts at the very end of their career, as sort of happened here? How long does the school's obligation for medical care and rehab last? Could it be that Stivrins 'coming back to rehab' means that and only that, so that she is not stuck having to rehab - and pay for the rehab - on her own? She "comes back" and is on scholarship as a mechanism to get her rehab done and paid for, and is ready to play pro in 2022, but not to play in 2021.
Again, sorry for the pessimism, but that is a 'scenario' that fits the literal text of the tweets, etc.

Again, sorry for the pessimism, but that is a 'scenario' that fits the literal text of the tweets, etc. This is a tough situation, especially with a back injury that required surgury. The school is going to pay medical bills, but a pro team is going to be very reluctant to sign her due to the high risk of re-injury. Her best route if she wants a pro career is probably to go back to Lincoln & rehab with the intent to play by seasons end to demonstrate she is able to perform. But even then her pro stock will have taken a hit….

Why the school would put out there that she had a back injury and surgery is a little baffling…

Why the school would put out there that she had a back injury and surgery is a little baffling… I have no inside info, but assume Stirvens agreed they could release the info. Appears she will be rehabing at the UNL athletic facilities, so could not keep that secret. Had they not released some info, there would likely be inaccurate rumors. Not sure how serious her injury or surgery were, but seems she may not be healthy for the start of the fall 2021 vb season. Edit this would explain her lack of a decision as to her fall playing intentions. She is just not sure at this point. She was injured playing for NE, thus NE should facilitate her rehab IMO.

If you do t k ow extent of injury or anything about her surgery why would it seem she may not be ready for start of season?

I would think the cost of rehabbing at Nebraska costs Nebraska very little given a full staff is already in place for the sports teams.
