It seems like someone will hire them as a package deal. David has coached both guys and girls at the highest levels. I heard he’s helping the U18 girls right now. Jordan has the experience as a player. Pepperdine’s latest volunteer just became Stanford’s newest assistant. One season with the men is all Jordan needs. I’m not sure why Cook wouldn’t try to bring them both in. Someone definitely will. Larson was a great player in Lincoln. And has been one of the best national team players in history, and maybe someday, if she puts her mind to it she may be a great coach. . . but I wouldn’t trade her for Tyler . . . she is a great player, he is a great coach. I think Nebraskans understand turning a great player into a great coach is not always easy. . . .in fact we have been reminded of this the past 3 years during Saturdays in the fall. As for David, he can only be described as someone who took over as the head men’s vb coach at Pepperdine 5 years ago from a legendary men’s coach-to thus far mediocre results. I don’t believe people appreciate the all consuming grind it takes to be someone like John Cook or Russ Rose. . . I am sure it is similar to the grind Larson has been on for the past 13+ years as a player. Jordan Larson is not going to be the head volleyball coach at Nebraska. . . That's an interesting take. The transition from player to coach is not a direct translation. You can have your opinions about a player going into coaching but to say that Jordan's fiance has had mediocre results is inaccurate. He has taken his team to the NCAA's 2 of the last 3 years. Many people in Men's volleyball see him being the next National Team coach. Tyler has a poor reputation amongst Men's coaches for a variety of reasons. Let's leave it at that. You clearly don't know much about the Men's game.

I know there is a husker recruiting thread but I don’t have it saved and don’t wanna look for it, Sydney helmers (2023) was just on an unofficial to Nebraska. She’s gonna be a huge get for wherever she goes

Haha exactly. And when they are ranked number 1 this year, it will further the point. Some people talk without really knowing.

I know there is a husker recruiting thread but I don’t have it saved and don’t wanna look for it, Sydney helmers (2023) was just on an unofficial to Nebraska. She’s gonna be a huge get for wherever she goes The question is does Nebraska have a scholarship available currently for a 2023 recruit? The best response is Nebraska will most likely suffer at least one scholarship loss to the transfer route in the next two years. Based on history and girls yearning for more playing time or chance to start elsewhere.

Minnesota fan here, but… you guys are going to be good this fall. Loving the incoming talent for outsides, as well as Orr.
Do you still expect Hames to start?

I think the prevailing thought was to redshirt Orr and than her ACL injury in October presented an obstacle for her to start, at least for half the year. You don’t want to rush a thoroughbred back to running before its time.

There are 2 extra yr seniors on the team this fall, 3 seniors and 3 juniors. Although the juniors can play thru 2023, I'm not sure their scholarship counts nor are they guaranteed a scholarship.

How does having a 5’10 hitter illustrate they’re making big strides exactly? Coach has won 70% of his matches, he has taken two completely different teams to the NCAA's in three years, and has landed top recruiting class after top recruiting class at a school that costs $70k a year with 4.5 scholarships. He took a 5'10' outside hitter and made him an All-American. It's a testament to his ability to train the players he has. On top of that he has coached both the Men's and Women's national teams and is respected by every coach. Your comment of mediocre is bizarre. I think your disappointment is that he will not leave Malibu for Lincoln Nebraska hahaha.

So Nebraska was never a possibility even though she visited a couple Sundays’ ago. I guess she will go to wherever she can be a four year starter for sure, maybe waiting just one year at the most. Reilly was willing to wait though. Maybe if and when Cook retires, a two setter system could be adopted.

I didn’t make any comment about Pepp being mediocre, nor do I have any disappointment in something that’s never going to happen.
