Because how BYU got easily swept, I believe if BYU was in the BW this season, they'd be behind Hawaii, UCSB and LBSU or 3rd place. I don't believe BYU had an off night or never shown up. I believe BYU just simply lost to a better team (Hawaii). I totally agree. Hawaii played much tougher teams then BYU did. Proof being UCSB beat Pepperdine. I believe, as much as I also hate LBSU, LBSU would have beaten Pepperdine also. Believe UCSB and LBSU would have given BYU a lot of trouble, if not beat BYU. Big West Conference, by far, is the tougher Conference, if not the toughest Conference in Men's Volleyball. A Big West Conference team has won the last 3 National Championships.

Just found out that the team did the “Haka” in the locker room before the match and sang Hawai’i Pono’i after the win. What a way to represent!!! I believe they also did a form of the "Haka" after all was said and done, too. Thought I saw that at the tail end of the telecast.

This is not about you Boo. Talk about drama queen. BYU did not win the title tonight for whatever reason, that doesn't mean you have to add on to it. I'm sure those boys are feeling bad about not winning, and for you to make it about you. Girl, take several seats! i am just stating stats. lol. When your team doesn't make it as much you don't have to suffer through close defeat so many times so its easy to judge and gloat. Congrats to Hawaii they deserved it. I am sorry I can't state my opinion and facts without people getting all confrontational? 2013-runner up 2014-final four 2016-runner up 2017-runner up 2018-final four. 2020-runner up. It is frustrating to see your team come so close and not get over the hump. I just think BYU took the wrong night to play one of their worst games. I mean just think of all the other teams who have NO Final Four experience on their resume. Remember Stanford Women went triple finals from 2006-2008.

Voss and Galloway picked the right time to step it up. The entire team played their best match. CONGRATS UH! Galloway and Voss have been great all season though. Thelle not making all big west first team and All American was a crime, he showed why. Thelle played well but he was simply not the best setter in the Big West throughout the conference season. However he was really good when it mattered.

Next season, parity puts a lot of teams in the mix. And, there will be a lot of teams juggling line-ups early that will click at the end, finishing strong. In the Big West, no one looks out of it, and no one looks like a sure bet. UCSD could be a force if they can find some depth. UCI might actually figure things out and get consistent. CSUN having a good year could steal it. UCSB has a lot to replace, and will be juggling things early, but McLaughlin always seems to find a way to squeeze the most out of his lineup. CSULB has strong pins, but setting, passing, offense from the middle, and consistency could still be problems they need to solve early on. Hawai'i will be reloading, but they had depth this season they couldn't always get on the court. Next year they get tested early, and will likely be vulnerable early, but never out of it and should be strong at the end.

Not to be an ass, but I'm starting to realize why no one gives a %*$# about the mens game. I knew it was bad but didn't realize how bad it is. It's all about serving and receiving and almost every point in done within two touches. Men’s volleyball is different, but not bad. There’s still a lot of strategy that goes into it. Hawaii was just doing everything they needed to do and then some. You’re not going to have a lot of long rallies against a team that hits 381, has an incredible Libero and served with an ace to error ratio of 10 to 11. And there were still some pretty great rallies. I personally don’t find short rallies unexciting either. Watching a clean first ball side out from the bic is one of my favorite things. But I understand this will not be the case for everyone, especially if they might be newer to men’s vb.

No one in the MPSF brought the service pressure Hawaii did, and it seems serve receive has been BYU’s downfall in previous championships as well.

Also, in the lead up to the BWT and in their BW semi-final, Hawai'i saw tougher serving from Beach, UCI, and UCSD than from BYU. BW competition had Hawai'i well prepped.

I was not impressed with BYU’s passing in the semi against Lewis. UH definitely exploited that aspect of BYU’s game, and UH’s back row defense was very good, lot of good digs by Colton, Gage, and yes, Chaz. He has a very bright future. Hopefully he is motivated to improve.
