I remember a lot don't like Thelle and they favored Sheward (i really can't see anything special about him) Sheward wasn't flashy but he was consistent, which Thelle wasn't last year. Props to him for improving his game and working on involving the middles more. We see things differently, back then both were just OK (Thelle with the advantage).

Some of you were extremely exaggerated with Thelle’s set problems last season.. Also to follow JW was some really Big Shoes to fill. Imho the hitters also were patient enough to appreciate what was about to develop between them, he and us. Well worth the journey tstl.

Hawaii's blocking isn't that good enough? Are you serious? Hawaii and BYU are the two best blocking teams remaining. It will come down to ball handling and who is better from the service line. Hawaii's middles controlled the net yesterday, and did a fantastic job. “System” being key in my post. Yes Hawaii did a great job against a medium team. Watch how many times Hawaii gives up on on ones, the middles end up shuffling, reaching etc. Then come back to me. Hawaii has gifted and physical athletes and that’s “system” for them. BYU plays with more structure. Boxscore stats don’t tell the whole story. My girl Wiz was right on the money. Spike, said Hawaii did a great job against a “medium” team as he refers to UCSB. And we all know UCSB was way better than Lewis, and maybe even better than BYU. The Big West was the better conference.

The Big West was the better conference. That was all definitely true on Saturday. BYU coughed up a hairball and Hawaii did as they’ve done all season when they got a lead, they rolled! Hawaii deserves full credit for W. They played free and loose and that was key. I tend to think UCSB was better than Lewis as well but that’s obviously pure speculation. I’d also speculate that a fully healthy UCLA beat most teams at Nationals. LBSU would have also looked a lot different if Carlos didn’t decide to leave the team. Regardless, they didn’t and Hawaii did what they had to ... they brought everyone back and showed they learned from their previous losses both in 2019 and to UCSD. That’s what good teams do.

When I watch the replay (many times), I keep asking myself "who is he?" And I can't figure it out. Does anyone know who this guy is?

You could be right. I just didn't recognize him with a beard. Yes, that’s Devon. They showed him in the stands with new setters & liberos wearing a mask, but I knew it was him! He was wearing the same shirt later when his mask was off, which showed his beard.

Rado Parapunov got Most Outstanding Player.
All-Tournament Team:

Casey McGarry (UCSB) Tyler Mitchem (Lewis)
That's all I could hear.
