funny enough, Chinese fans are concerned that USA will have already made the final 4 and won't play their starters vs. China. OMG really?! How funny. Karch would never not start his best vs. JLP. He also wants the team to go undefeated during the entire tournament, which i very well could see happening, especially since it does not look likely that China will even make the finals for the first time in a really long time. That sucks because China's WGP/VNL trek was trending upwards. 2016 WGP: 5th 2017 WGP: 4th 2018 and 2019 VNL: Bronze (2x) I was really hoping to see a China vs. USA final. That would have been sweet no matter the result. Instead, we will likely get a Turkey or Brazil vs. USA final match. yup. from their perspective, the olympics is the big one. VNL is practice matches.
now, what can go wrong during the VNL? the strongest opponent refuses to practice with you. 
I think JLP miscalculated. I doubt she expected this B squad to have lost to Canada and Belgium. If not for those losses, making the final 4 would still have been a possibility. If she was allowed to select players again, I guess she would have taken Gong Xiangyu in addition.

Is that where the team has been lacking? on the right side? right side hasn't been good, but more importantly, someone who can do the floor defense. none of these pin hitters are very good at reception/defense. |

Watching Korea’s play though, you’d think KYK was doing her best impression of Ebrar, falling down after every swing. Can’t blame her though, the setters they have available are just not up to par. I’d be concerned if any of the sets vs. Korea will be close. Hopefully, JLP decides to play her best lineup vs. USA’s likely Olympic starters so have a better idea of where each team stands. funny enough, Chinese fans are concerned that USA will have already made the final 4 and won't play their starters vs. China.
