All of us watching LC's and Karch's high-five like...... The way she gave him some extra claps right before to show him she still had some hoorah left in her for Paris. If she didn't she might've received an email telling her that her services are no longer required.

While I hope this Italian team is not much of a challenge, I also lowkey hope we get pushed before we get into the tougher teams next week. I wouldn't mind a good four sets. welp I don't want to say I called it but...

Per FIVB: Attack Drews 18-5-30, .500 Bartsch 16-2-33, .424 Robo 9-6-32, .094 Foluke 7-2-13, .385, Washington 6-1-12, .417 Reception Robo 5 pos / 9 total / 0 errors JWO 8 pos / 29 total / 2 errors Bartsch 6 pos / 29 total / 3 errors This seemed kinda off to me (wouldn't be the first time with FIVB stats), so I went back and did stats for hitting and this is what I got: Drews 19-2-30, .567 Bartsch 15-2-32, .406 Robo 12-5-33, .212 Foluke 7-2-13, .385 Washington 7-1-12, .500

Haleigh has been awesome the entire tournament, I don't think we can keep her off the floor. I'll edit this once USAV posts their stats and anything's different.

Cause im always right about everything with karch.... But I think Haleigh will be a starter. And I hope she is.

i think people are mad about the roster.. so every mistake anyone from the floor makes, its taken as an opportunity to point out why their pick should have been chosen instead. and i mean every single mistake, a new way to point it out.. i think the only position that haven't really been the target is MB. It's sad. The only thing this team can do is win gold otherwise the second-guessing will be brutal. And even if they win it'll be, for some, that the rest of the world was down that Olympics. It's just too much. That's all. I don't expect people to be cheerleaders. I just wish there was a little more perspective. Perfection is an impossible goal. Perfection is impossible as is apparently winning the gold for US women with the best talent. š¤·āāļø

I get that as fans we want perfection, but these seven players literally havenāt ever been on the court for the USA at the same time if you really think about it. Itāll take them some time to get it together. I for one was exercising inner peace for the entire match and looking at the positives there were. Literally ever? You think they've never practiced together? Really? Go away.

Best talent. Riiiiiiiiiight.
This would be the "the rest of the world shouldn't be able to compete with us so it must be our failure when we lose" line of reasoning.
I'm taking a break. This is not a job I want or need.

This happens in every professional team sport. Menās and womenās. Are you suggesting that teams everywhere play well together from day 1? Is that why none of them have spring training or preseasons or anything? š¤ š§

The way Poulter sets Alexa Gray/Camilla Mingardi for 8 months is completely different than how Hill/Krob/MBH/Drews want to be set. It's a process to get those connections going. And it's not going to be perfect from the get-go

But this VNL there hasnāt been the same roster from one game to the next. You canāt excuse bad play to adjusting to new players, because that will be the case for every single game. The Olympic will also see rotating players in and out. These women have been involved in the USA system for a while now and I donāt feel adjusting to a new combo of players really flies at this level.

I dont think it's a coincidence in Poulter's 3 matches
Good matches: JT, Washington, Chi vs Serbia + SWP, Drews, Washington, Foluke vs Brazil + MBH, Drews, Washington vs Italy
Bad Matches: Hill, MBH vs Serbia + no one vs Brazil + Krob vs Italy
All of the hitters that have been with Poulter an extended amount of times have had good matches. The hitters who play their first match with Poulter (Hill, Krob, MBH; all arrived to camp late, if at all).... didn't have great success/a good combination right away
