Completely? No it isn't. The differences are overstated, as is the impact those differences have on the top setters. Yes it is. In Italy, Jordyn sets with her feet. my mistake

What a terrible thread this was to read. A lot of the negative comments are a bit dramatic. Having read the thread before watching the replay, it definitely was not as bad as you'd expect from reading the comments. The reality is that as good as these players are, they're not perfect.
I'm sorry that your favorite player did not make the roster.

Per FIVB: Attack Drews 18-5-30, .500 Bartsch 16-2-33, .424 Robo 9-6-32, .094 Foluke 7-2-13, .385, Washington 6-1-12, .417 Reception Robo 5 pos / 9 total / 0 errors JWO 8 pos / 29 total / 2 errors Bartsch 6 pos / 29 total / 3 errors So where are all the geniuses who were dumping on Poulter before these stats came out? These numbers aren't just good, they're spectacular pretty much across all the hitters with one exception. Must someone really explain what they mean? They mean that the setter is doing a heck of a job in consistently delivering a hit-able ball to pretty much all her hitters before the blocks can get set. Some people still don't get Poulter's game and her value. It's not style points. It's fast delivery to gaps in the block. The numbers tell the real story.

When the numbers are good, we give all the credits to the setter and when they're bad, we blame the hitter for being error-prone/not able to kill OOS/inconsistent?
Sounds like VT.

except... it is... The way Poulter sets Alexa Gray/Camilla Mingardi for 8 months is completely different than how Hill/Krob/MBH/Drews want to be set. Completely? No it isn't. The differences are overstated, as is the impact those differences have on the top setters. Yes it is. Go watch some more Busto Arsizio if you don't think the setting is completely different. There's no OH similar to anyone that Poulter has set that wants the ball the way Kim Hill wants it. MBH and Gray are similar, but Gray wants a much faster and lower ball. Same with neither of the American Opp's want the same ball Mingardi gets. Drews alone wants a ball that's different than almost every other elite opposite. Poulter's been with Kim Hill/MBH/Krob all of maybe a week in Anaheim and 1-2 games in Italy. After not playing together for, what, 18 months? Yea, there's going to be some connection issues until they spend more time together. You put Maja, Wolosz, etc into the same situation/system and it's going to happen as well. The one connection that looked flawless? Washington-Hancock.... cause they spent the last 9 months with each other.

I finally sat down to watch this match and I can't believe how different the match was from all of the comments. Yes, there were some passing issues and MBH struggled a little, but you would think the USA lost this match based on the comments.
