So the 1-2-3 seeds in the women’s have all been knocked out.
Naomi, Ash Barty, Sabalenka.
If only Coco Gauff was able to participate. If only…
Meanwhile Novak trying to do the golden grand slam.

Pretty normal for women's tennis these days. No one has been able to really take over and consistently dominate in Serena's wake. I think it's entertaining.

I'm more surprised by the Barty loss...women's tennis since 2015 is extremely unpredictable...any of the players in the top 25-30 have a solid chance of winning (despite not being the favorites...feel bad for Osaka as she hasn't played since May and must have felt incredible amount of added pressure with the expectations put on her...Barty had been playing solid tennis and just had a horrible match, and I was also extremely bummed Iga Swiatek got taken out...

I am surprised Iga lost so early. I thought she was ready to be a very dominant player. I think Barty and Swiatek in particular will be present at the top for a long time.

Hope so, Iga is probably my favorite player right now...for the Olympics, I'm 100% pulling for Muguruza - and I hope I didn't just give her the kiss of death.... Also, for all the Novak haters out there...take a step back, what the guy has a chance of accomplishing in the next 6 weeks is truly remarkable...appreciate and enjoy the ride while it lasts...

I already think he's the GOAT, but if Novak wins gold in singles while and then wins US Open, that'll be one of the biggest feats in tennis history. Not to mention I think he has a good chance of medaling in mens doubles and mixed doubles because of how good his all-around game is.

Novak has never been my favorite (Go Fed!) but I can absolutely appreciate his level of greatness. I totally agree he is arguably the GOAT already. I think he has a good chance of getting this golden slam. (Although Steffi Graf has always been one of my favorites - and I'd like her to hang on to that accomplishment as being the only one to do it so far) But regardless if Novak gets the Golden Slam, he will no doubt win at least 5 or 6 more majors. Roger will not. And I can't see Rafa lasting that long either. Novak will undoubtedly be the GOAT when he leaves the sport. I like that the women's game has no dominant player right now. However a rivalry between a few of them would be welcomed in the next couple years. I'll be pulling for Osaka, Muguruza, and Coco Gauff. I like Muguruza to win gold in Tokyo.

The Big Three are all tied in majors, but Djokovic leads in all the other important metrics. Steffi Graf's fabled 1988 season is likely the best in tennis history from an achievement standpoint, and I hope that Djokovic can match it. Even if he "only" wins the calendar slam without winning gold, he'd still be the first man to do that since Rod Laver in 1969, and he would be all alone with 21 majors.

I'm predicting a Svitolina vs. Bencic/Pavly final. I think Muguruza loses to Rybakina today.

I thought Steffi was the only one to win all four majors and the gold medal in one year? Serena and Rafa have all four plus the gold medal, just not in one year I think. I just think it's another thing to add to his resume.

Anyway, the only player to complete a legitimate Golden Slam is Steffi Graf, in 1988. The others have a career Golden Slam, though.
