Hancock needs to start the next match. That seems like a much easier decision than whether to keep Drews in or start JT. It should be an easy decision. Everyone can see how much better the hitters have been with Hancock setting a more diverse offense. But... I feel Karch is going to Karch and go back to Poulter where we're setting OH's 75% of the time into a well formed block. Not to mention you wouldn’t be getting JT or Poulter at 100%. Doesn’t seem like a tough decision, but it also isn’t mine to make.

Anyone else tear up a little bit when JT hugged Annie?? Feels so genuine and so cool to see that moment go both ways Yes, but I tear up EVERY time the swimmer without legs/adoption commercial comes on.

I dont think either will start against Serbia.

Hancock, like all players, has holes in her game but she’s so tough mentally and a great competitor. There doesn’t ever seem to be moments that are too big for her. It would be impossible to ask anything more from two players coming off the bench in Drew’s and Hancock. Certainly appeared “too big” in any of the prelim matches she subbed in for before Italy. She wasn’t good. She’s playing admirably now, however. Drews was a previous starter.

Does the DR have a legit shot at an upset here? I have to ask. well, last time both teams A-teams met... DR won Well, that didn't work out for DR. More athletes than volleyball players.

Drews and Hancock have been on the bench prior to injuries with the exception of some spot opportunities, both have come off the bench and delivered.

Pan-Am-Cup. I will be interested to see what team USA sends. The NORCECA Championship is also this year in Puerto Rico, serves as World Championship Qualification (DR/USA will qualify regardless if they are top 2 at that event). So, the NORECECA Championship is the more important event particularly for Mexico and Canada, I have to imagine they will go all out to win that. Anyway, I'm so glad Rivera gets to go out at home in #PuntoVivaViva style. Though she was actually a part of the NT then, the 2003 Pan Am Games at home, which still might be DR's best accomplishment, are talked about as an inspiration by many of DR's younger players as an influence and reason why they chose to pursue careers in the sport. Hopefully the Olympic Qualifier in 2020 was also able to spark more youth interest and growth in the sport.

Starting (as a setter), you know going in that this is your show and you're play right from the get go dictates your teams success. Coming in off the bench can be extremely tough when you're expected to go in and stop a sinking ship. Your play has to immediately be top notch, versus getting into the flow of the match as the starting setter.
