Caltech give CMS their first set loss in SCIAC but falls 1-3. Beavers go 2-1 this week. CMS Volleyball Drops First SCIAC Set, But Bounces Back for 3-1 Win www.cmsathletics.org/sports/wvball/2021-22/releases/20211016xg8psyCaltech beats Redlands and Occidental in a great week for the program and take a set from #2 nationally ranked CMS! CMS plays 5 matches this week and the first two, nobody cares about. They go out to Calvin this weekend to play Calvin, Hope and Ohio Northern, with Millikin in the tournament as well. Then in Virginia you have Hopkins playing Emory, Randolph Macon and Christopher Newport (which lost some luster by taking 2 on the chin last weekend). Then Wartburg's last competitive match is at Bethel next Tuesday. I feel like 3 undefeated contenders is a lot at this point in the year but there is still time for an October surprise for each of these teams. NYU just got theirs.

Mary Hardin-Baylor will likely get it done and enter the NCAA tournament unbeaten. Plymouth State will leave the ranks of the undefeated tonight when they host Middlebury.

First set of regional rankings out today or tomorrow I believe. However, they're only doing alphabetical order for the first set.

How can Ohio Wesleyan be regionally ranked at 10-10? Or Carnegie Melon at 9-10?

How can Ohio Wesleyan be regionally ranked at 10-10? Or Carnegie Melon at 9-10? Ohio Wesleyan will drop out as the ranked W/L data is added. I have them 13th in my quality wins tracker in region VII with an 0-9 record against quality opponents. for now their very strong SOS(.615) must have helped, please they are one of the usual suspects. Carnegie Mellon is a little better, they are 9th in quality wins, with a 2-6 record, again a very strong SOS(.632) was probably key. Albion, Baldwin-Wallace, and Heidelberg are candidates for the last spot.

They beat Wittenberg twice, which is unheard of in the NCAC. But the season barely counted for anything, and then they graduated a lot of their top players. Didn't even earn a conference title for an undefeated spring season with two wins over the Tigers.

It's a good thing someone pointed out the alphabetical sort before I read this:
