Based on the 2018 format, after round Robin pool play, the top team from each pool is automatically into the semifinals and the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams from each pool play in the QF, meaning the two bottom teams are eliminated from each pool after pool play. With that said, any guesses on who will not make it out of pool play? I looked what the regulations said, and if there's no last minute changes it should be: -1st home team gets 1st seed and is placed in pool A, second one is seeded normally (relevant for the men's). -Teams are placed in pools following serpentine except seeds 9 and 10 which are reversed.
-If two teams of the same country share pool, then the second one gets its seeding increased by one to prevent it. If that doesn't work, then it is decresed. No sharing pools by same country teams.
Advancing from Round Robin should be as Tamz explained.
I wouldn't dare to predict anything but I think there will be surprises with teams with uncertain future somewhat unfocused and more of one team quite out of form.
Then I think the last post I had about the pools will stay true since 10 seed will become the 1 seed and no pool has two teams of the same country.

Four days before the event starts and they still haven’t officially released pools or a schedule. Makes me wonder whether they’re expecting last-minute changes.

They need all the teams to have officially arrived before they have the pools published and schedules set, just like the regular events.

As ajm said, is quite weird that they haven't published the pools. But on the other hand it's quite common for the FIVB not to publish any schedule until the last day.

I would say even for the regular tournaments, they do not publish the pools and release the schedules until the technical meeting has taken place. I remember on a couple occasions, a MD team dropped out after Qualifiers concluded, so they took another team from the Q who didn’t win to qualify but just so happened to still be there. (A team from Greece on the women’s side got lucky one time.)

Seems to have changed from what was on the FIVB site now that there are times. Also BVBinfo and FIVB seem to have different match orders or maybe the numbering is just odd. BVB has Slaes/Joannouk as Match 3, and is listed as the first match for the women, whereas FIVB has occurring on Friday, well after many other matches. FIVB does not seem to have numbered the matches in terms of which comes first, but instead has Match 20 happening before Match 1, and many of the Match numbers on the same court recur? The FIVB can't even handle numbering the matches, what a mess. @accrossthepond perhaps you should send them your CV?

I missed the fisrt matches and they don't seem to be in FIVB's youtube channel. Anyone knows if they upload them with delay or is this exclusively live?

MHPavs v Holland right now. My team looks awful, no ball control, weak shots, if they keep this up I cant see them advancing.
