Thank you! I was going to wait last minute to make the thread since CVA likes to do the same when releasing information about the league.

a bit of a preview of the league in the national games
Liaoning 3 - 2 Shandong (both teams may have foreigners in the league)
Jiangsu 3 - 2 Tianjin (Tianjin is expected to get reinforcements with Vargas; Jiangsu doesn't usually have foreigners, both are pretty stacked compared to rest of cvl)
Henan 0 - 3 Shanghai (not much to watch here really...)

According to the Italian riddler,
If you thought the previous seasons were short, think again. That 3 weeks of rest and training in the bubble will make everyone bored.

Feeling burned out and need a break from volleyball? Explore non-volleyball opportunities? She's going to school. I know her shoulder has been wrapped heavily lately so maybe it's injury related as well, but it could also be for her mental health. I remember after the World Championships in 2018 fans were criticizing her performance and she was really hard on herself then to the point where she didn't think she was good enough.

So my hunch is right then. Speaking of mental health, we in the West like to think we are more enlightened and progressive when dealing with mental health, but unfortunately, there is still a stigma attached to it. This stigma is much worse in more conservative cultures like China, where mental illness just isn't openly talked about and society will label anyone with those disorder as weak and undeserving of help. To avoid that outcome, many mental disorder patients suffer in silence in China and other parts of Asia. More so if you are a famous athlete.

I don't blame her.

Who is Chinas heir apparent at setter when ding is done I see Yao Di taking over the starting role for the time being while China explores new backup options at the setter position. Ding Xia did say she wants to stay till Paris 2024, but that'll depend on how well she can maintain her form. They had a third setter Diao Linyu this past cycle, but she's never made a big impact when she did get the opportunity and will likely be cut.
