TJ's a better team and the finals are but a formality. it's how the team's appeared to be constantly favored by the ad hoc rule changes over the years that had some fans in China up in arms. Tianjin's players also seemed a bit bored upon winning the final match and becoming league champions again. Shanghai's team was more happy to win 3rd place and bronze medals, although they too finished in the same spot they finished a year ago. Before the past two seasons, I was able to attend everyone of Shanghai's home matches and some of Jiangsu's matches since 2012. During those years, the league was getting more and more popular and getting stronger, especially since 2016. How things have changed during the past two seasons. The latest rule limiting teams to only having one foreign player on the floor at a time, instead of the more common 2-foreign player or 3-foreign player rule was quite detrimental to the Shanghai team not only in the standings, but financially to pay two very top-notch foreign players this season. To be fair though, Tianjin's team this year would have been the champion in any case. The starting front line of LI Yingying, YUAN Xinyue, and VARGAS was truly impressive. They were at a completely different level than any other team in the league and maybe the best team in the CVL during the past ten years.

People who watch CVL is also getting bored. Where is the interest and excitement if the same team win year in year out? Its also quite curious that Tianjin being good does not mean the NT being good. Someone should study whether Tianjin being so good might actually be detrimental to the NT...
