thoughts on the final? I'm guessing Tianjin and Shanghai (LYY + Vargas vs Kim + Larson, battle of generations), Jiangsu third.
Shanghai has also signed the new teenage sensation and right-side hitter, Wang Yindi. Although she is extremely young, coaches will have her on the court as soon as possible, even though Shanghai also now has former Bayi player Ouyang Qianqian at that position. I have not seen film of her yet, but I have heard that Tianjin was trying to sign her which likely means she does have potential. Still I wonder if she'll be ready to start for Shanghai being that she's only 16. If Guangdong was really separating then if I was Shanghai I would've gone for Chen Peiyan instead, someone older and more experienced. Nonetheless Shanghai will be a great opportunity for Wang Yindi playing alongside the likes of KYK and Larson.

I guess that she won't begin the season starting for Shanghai, but coaches will look for opportunities to put her in matches early in the season.

Do you have any bilibili links to her matches with Shanxi? I could only find the replay of the national games finals. They could start Ouyang, but they don't really need a passing opposite with Larson and KYK. Perhaps Liu Zhening will get the start since she was getting reps when she subbed for Zhang Lei.

I couldn't find any videos online, but if you search, Wang Yindi's name in Chinese is: 王音迪

D. Boskovic (Shenzhen) is in China. Just waiting for Larson and KYK to arrive, hopefully soon because they don't want a repeat of what happened to Dixon last year. thoughts on the final? I'm guessing Tianjin and Shanghai (LYY + Vargas vs Kim + Larson, battle of generations), Jiangsu third.
Tianjin is having a charity match with Shenzhen in a couple days and there's a rumor that Bian Yuqian and Zhang Yichan will play for Shenzhen. Not sure if it's just for the charity match, but if it's an official transfer then Shanghai will lose their experienced setter which will affect their results in the league. Xu Xiaoting is still growing as a player, but I guess the club wants to start investing in her right away this season. Zhang Yichan isn't as big of a loss since they have KYK, Larson, and Yang Jie. Now even Zhong Hui will get some playing time.

I guess Zhong Hui will be a serving sub with her topspin serve. I can't see Shanghai spending big money on Larson and KYK and benching one of them. Or Zhong Hui can play opposite (which I think she has played before)
Speaking of outsides playing opposite, I was re-watching the 2nd semifinal match between Vakifbank and Galatarsary yesterday and noticed that Guidetti had Zhu and Gozde Kirdar as outside, and Kelsey Robinson in the "opposite" slot which was very interesting; I didn't think coaches outside China did that kind of stuff.

I just hope its not Tianjin winning again the championship, it makes the league too predictable and boring. Not to mention it doesn't help the NT development if other players in the other teams don't get the chance to develop further in their skills in the higher pressure environment of the final. Then again, if they do one of the previous seasons arrangement where the teams qualified for the finals can "borrow" players from eliminated teams, that might mitigated some of that issue. Still, it doesn't change the fact it is rather dull to watch Tianjin win yet again.

Like I said, sick of Tianjin winning all the time. Shanghai have their share of championship trophies, but now they pale in comparison to Tianjin. And since they got Larson and KYK, I hope they can do better this season.

Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangdong (Shenzhen) are all economically better off than Tianjin. Look at whatever Beijing is doing...
Besides, I don't fully buy the idea that it's necessary for the provincial team players to develop in the league anyways. Back when Tianjin was dominating they didn't really have that many national team players. Zhu Ting's Henan team was playing in the B league (or second league) and she never really played in the CVL until after she made it in the national team, and Yuan Xinyue went to Jiangsu in 2017-18 to play the final 4 and didn't show much improvement in the 2018 VNL or World Championships compared to herself in 2017, whereas in 2018-19 she stayed in the training camp and subsequently had magnificent performances such as the VNL match vs. Italy and the World Cup match vs. Brazil.

No, when Tianjin dominated, the NT wasn't doing so well. There is an interesting correlation. Tianjin does well, the NT does not do so well.

Bjelica (sp?) -> Beijing. Why'd they bail on Dixon then? I don't know, there could be many reasons, here are some possible ones:
- Dixon didn't want to deal with the quarantines - Beijing preferred to have pin hitters since their two main ones retired - Beijing's management was being stupid
I didn't even see the news that they were going to sign with Dixon.

What Americans 🇺🇸 play in China? Are there any VB teams/leagues in Taiwan 🇹🇼 or just in the PRC?
