Shout out to Maddie Endsley. I was at the match today and watched her celebrate with abandon when her teammates made great plays, particularly those occupying the position where she used to start. This young lady puts her team first, and you can be certain she will be back on the floor sooner than later putting her power and smarts to impressive use.

Death, taxes, and UW winning the point after Crenshaw passes the ball 10 feet behind the endline. It's truly miraculous.

I would like to see Cook reconsider whether to start Bush over Hoffman. There is enough evidence to justify this decision. Hoffman ended up hitting .188 but looked pretty good in doing so, making only two errors, and dealing with a lot of out-of-system stuff. Bush is error-prone. At the very least, I think Cook should be ready with a quick hook if Emoni is chalking up errors. Good analysis as, well, ALWAYS. I think that you meant Crenshaw, instead of Hoffman. I agree, while they have different skill sets, I think Crenshaw is the better choice in a lot of situations. Today, Crenshaw's passing was an important element to have in there to support Hoffman - allowing Bays and Crenshaw to squeeze Hoffman's receive window. (This would come after the videos of her shanking one)

But I have to say I was a little surprised when I looked at the long-term forecast for Maui and saw that, one week from today, Maui is supposed to get more than 1.5 inches of rain. Might be a good day to catch some volleyball on the tube.

But the weather is so nice in Seattle right now! I'm a true Seattleite and don't mind the rain. I was born and raised here, and cold, dark, wet late November is definitely not pleasant weather. Especially when you know it's going to be like this (except maybe not quite as dark) for the next four months.

I think Bush is the better blocker, but I give Crenshaw the edge in avoiding errors, tooling the block, general ball handling and floor defense, and just experience in knowing the right play to make. Plus you don't have to substitute for her when she goes back row, thus saving valuable subs. Shannon has earned it.

Well, my voice is hoarse and my throat is raw. The Cougs fought very hard, but UW just had too many weapons, especially Marin Grote for whom the Cougs had no answer - 12k, 0e, 19ta, .632, 5bl, and 2dg. It didn't hurt that she (at 6'4") was running the slide against Tusa (5'8") and Ung (6'0"). Having Timmer (6'2") on that side might have helped.
I think Hoffman's early passing woes were just nerves, with a LOT riding on this match - a Pac-12 Championship and an NCAA seed. Following the break, she was passing dimes and dealing aces.
If this team doesn't host in the first two rounds, it will be criminal. It is a deeper and better team than last year's Final Four team.

I'm a true Seattleite and don't mind the rain. I was an Aberdonian and Grays Harborite, up until the age of 13, anyway. Today was downright balmy! A bit more than a drizzle, but no wind to speak of - nothing like the gale-force super-soakers I had as a kid!
