Don't some early grads to school for that early semester on their on dime?
Yes, that is what I understand. If you attend early, it is on your own dime for that semester, then the Schollie kicks in. That has been the experience with the limited number of families I know.
The recruit can receive a ship for the spring, but there must be an open one in the spring under the 12 limit. This typically happens when a senior graduates in the fall and doesn't continue school in the spring thus freeing up their ship in the spring.

It's amazing how quickly one can fall out of being in the know about club volleyball. I just learned this weekend that the Colorado Crossroads NQ is no longer a NQ. Talk about killing the goose...

Yeah. That's the fallout from their tourney director being a nut job about not allowing a coach's baby into the event due to COVID protocols. That being said, in no way do I think USAV was doing anything other than being opportunistic in pulling Crossroads's qualifier status so they can run one of their own, which they are, in Salt Lake City.

No argument from me. Considering the $$$$, I'm surprised that the USAV hasn't taken over all the NQs. It could probably singlehandedly fund the national team with just the NQ money.

I suspect they already get a cut without the headache and expense of running the tournaments.

What? Qualifiers make money? Not according to somebody who ran a Q for years - would cry that he lost money doing it for the kids!

USAV gets a nice check just for sanctioning the event as a NQ… the few events they do run are bare bones with USAV staff and rely heavily on outside contractors… some argued that this was why they reconfigured the events a few years back… more sanctioned NQ meant more money and no extra effort for them… any entity that runs a NQ and doesnt make money didnt do the assignment… or is heavily scratching other backs and playing the poor me card…

This will be the eventual LOVB business model... And then we will have like 7 different National Champions, with each tournament having 6 different levels at 8 different age groups.

Need to add Coast 18s, Wave 18s for sure. Wave made it to the Finals last year against Sunshine LA (17s GJNC), do not know how you leave them off the list, shrug.
