I do not know how other Illini volleyball fans feel, but I am feeling super-excited about the future of Illini volleyball. I have always believed in Coach Tamas as the future of Illini volleyball, however Krista brings so much to the program. She is a winner! Based on her only coaching tenure? You are a positive dude. |

I have always believed in Coach Tamas as the future of Illini volleyball, however Krista brings so much to the program. She is a winner! I'm cautiously optimistic. I really like Tamas the coach. He seems to get the most out of the players and the team dynamics seem good (at least from the outside). Tamas the recruiter has me a bit concerned, especially with the level of recruiting among our peer schools. Hopefully, Whitman can find some money to upgrade their facilities. |

When Tamas announced the abandonment of the hockey/volleyball/wresting/gymnastics facility he said other opportunities have arisen for the existing sports. I am optimistic he means he is working on something for volleyball. Now that tOSU, Iowa and even Indiana have new venues our facilities are seriously lagging. I would not want to host a prospective athlete during August workouts.

I would not want to host a prospective athlete during August workouts. I'm optimistic about that, too! If the university builds a new volleyball arena, would you have a preferred location in mind? Mine would be the remaining grass lot to the immediate southeast of Huff Hall- I think there's plenty of ground for an arena there. The new Siebel Center for Design might not be cool with a big building taking up their eastern vista but maybe we could just commission a scenic mural painted on that face of our new gym. I'd chip in some bucks for the paint. |

Just to the west of Illinois Field and just to the north of Ubben. Plenty of parking and close to all the other athletic facilities.

Friday, September 2 Colorado (at Colorado) Saturday, September 3 Washington (at Colorado) Am hoping for an Illini Classic with 4 teams. 2018 was most recent Illini Classic. I'm thinking you might be right about us hosting the Illini Classic this year. None of the three weekends of preseason already announced include home games and I think they try to host at least one match before the Big Ten schedule. Hopefully that means we get an opening weekend Huff tourney! |

He was a good guy, a great coach, and an awesome ambassador of the sport. Illinois and Minnesota were lucky to have him! I had forgotten he was Pitt’s first ever head coach for women’s volleyball too. $2,500 salary. My how things have changed! Glad the Illini got out of Kenney Gym, and I know some of you want an upgrade from Huff Hall. Is this article foreshadowing anything? |
