Great cause and really appreciate Coach's comments. Couldn't be prouder of our team's continued emphasis on inclusion and diversity. I just wish Coach wouldn't start a post with "I have been in sports for as long as I can remember." Until I read on I thought he was announcing he would be moving on. Did he take the PSU job? <shudder>

The current Pitt head coach, Dan Fisher was reportedly really close to being hired but Pitt announced a contract extension for him this afternoon. So I guess we gotta hold our breath a little longer.

I'm cautiously optimistic Tamas will remain at Illinois indefinitely (based on a few things):
1) Penn State v'ball has lost a bit of its luster the past 3-4 years as other programs have become more competitive 2) Tamas has a very good working relationship with Josh Whitman and receives tremendous support from the administration 3) Several posters have suggested several Penn State athletics programs do not receive the support that they once did
My guess/hope is that Tamas would only consider offers from a limited number of programs, including Nebraska, Texas or (as a California native) a select few California schools.

Bueller, Bueller, transfers - anyone? Need some tea, some hints or an announcement.
Seems like lots of big players are off the board.

That probably means he has a scholarship available. We know that if a transfer is going to join Illinois for the second semester she has to show up in the next week in which case we have a short wait. If the transfer is a grad transfer she may need to graduate from her current school as well as go through the process of entrance exams and get admitted into a post-graduate program. Personally I wouldn’t want to commit to a school only to find out I was not admitted. We may not learn about a transfer until May. Do we have enough patience?

I am also waiting with "bated breath" for an announcement on our new assistant coach. I have posted before that I believe the most important attribute the new assistant should have is determined, successful recruiter. Volleyball techniques are covered with our other three coaches, Chris, Eli, and Jen. Our biggest need from my point of view is recruiter.

Sounds like they've filled the AC vacancy created when Reed left for Alabama. Krista Vansant from Indiana. Thanks for the scoop!

Has there been an official announcement from Coach Tamas or the U Of Illinois?

I always thought of her as their recruiting coach, the first mailing my daughter got had a questionnaire with instructions to send to Krista.
On her bio it does say: Vansant helped recruit the Hoosiers 2020 freshmen class, which ranked No. 15 in the country, the highest ranked class in program history. It included the Hoosiers second highest ranked individual recruit in program history in No. 32 Tommi Stockham and two Under Armour All-Americans.
From their camps page they also say: Prior to IU Vansant served as a Volleyball Program Assistant at Washington and oversaw recruiting for the program.

Isn't Indiana's top point scorer from last season in the transfer portal? Could she be following Krista to Illinois?
