I would think John Cook is the highest paid coach in the NCAA’s. If not he should be. unless you know the contract details, it is often difficult to get a full picture of the compensation. And direct compensation aside, there can also be additonal income opportunities. In Cook's case, the board often speculates on the NIL value of being a Nebraska athlete. I don't know if Cook's contact forbids him from commercial endorsements. But if it doesn't, his outside activity revenue opportunities must be huge. Here's an article from the New York Times saying Mary Wise's salary was $365K . .and that was in 2009. 12 years later, one can only imagine. www.nytimes.com/2010/09/03/sports/03cup.html

Surprised Maryland and Rutgers that low. With Indiana at $250,000 I would imagine Iowa in that range as well if they get their girl/guy/him/her.

Cook is underpaid, BTW. Most women's VB coaches are. It's criminal how we don't support women's sports in this country.

Nebraska: $675,000 Minnesota: $550,000 Illinois: $368,000 Wisconsin: $345,650Ohio State: $281,875Indiana: $246,237Purdue: $241,898Michigan State: $261,375 Rutgers: $180,000Michigan: $170,000 in 2020, but $191,000 in 2019 Iowa: $175,000 Maryland: $160,000I'd think Purdue should be getting more $$ after their last few seasons. How does the Big 10 stack up compared to other Power 5 schools? Anyone know?

Sheffield was at $461K as of 2019-2020, up from $378K in 2018-2019. He would have been due to receive a contract extension in the spring of 2021 - per articles in the Milw Journal - but because of the spring VB season, that was delayed. I don't find an article saying that has happened. Oddly enough, data base for U of W says his salary went down in 2021 by a lot. 25 per page Fiscal year Name Title Dept Description Campus Start Date Total Pay Details 2021 Kelly Sheffield Coach Ath/Volleyball (Wmn)/Vball-W UW Madison 01/02/2013 $345,650.00 view 2020 Kelly Sheffield Coach Ath/Volleyball (Wmn)/Vball-W UW Madison 01/02/2013 $461,600.00 view 2019 Kelly Sheffield Coach Ath/Volleyball (Wmn)/Vball-W UW Madison 01/02/2013 $378,000.25 view No camps? Also I think all coaches took pay cuts to balance the Athletics budget.

Here's an article from a few years ago with salaries for the Power 5 Schools. Interesting that in the B1G, they've had 5 coaches change since the article was published. 3 programs reduced salary (Ohio State, Maryland & Iowa) while 2 programs increased salaries (Indiana & Rutgers) since then.

It is not a public university. It's a state-related school. So they interpret open records differently.

Don’t have time to do the digging right now but I thought there were multiple posts earlier this year showing Aird’s salary at Indiana to be around 500K.

Are any of them also teaching? Or what else do the do for the university? Almost $200,000 seems like a lot for a coach who barely wins any conference matches. I can’t see these bottom schools volleyball programs generating much money.

His first year salary was $580k but then it dropped down to $241k the past two years. Maybe some sort of signing bonus when he came to IU. openpayrolls.com/employee/steven-a-aird-4449
