McGhee is about to have a breakout year with Carlson setting her Well, 2 kills in 4 sets is a rough start. Well duh, she’s just setting the scene for the break out to occur.

Is Harrison healthy? I know she didn’t play against Texas but haven’t kept up since.

Going back and rewatching the game, here are some things I noticed:
- At times, Baylor was only passing with two in Ro. 1 with Harrison and Briseño (and who said Harrison can’t pass??) They would lineup Simpson to pass but then pull her out right before the serve.
- Towards the end of set 5, Carlson was blocking on the left side and Simpson on the right (Carlson isn’t gonna put up amazing block numbers). It worked though because Simpson blocked Franklin to go up 13-11.
- Carlson is in such control of the flow of the game. She has already established a great connection with the middles. She just looks so calm and comfortable out there. Doesn’t complicate things, just uses her natural court awareness.
- Harrison has patiently waited for her time to play 6-rotations and it’s finally here. Her serve is not very strong and she needs to settle in a little more with her defense, but her backrow attacking and passing looked good.
- The OPP position still seems up for grabs. Neither E. McGhee not Sczech really lit it up though McGhee was a big presence at the net on defense.
- Briseño is as expected. Though her out of system setting needs some practice. She doesn’t seem comfortable using her hands or setting behind her.

I think Harrison needs to clean it up a bit. She’s had a lot of hitting errors. If she can be more consistent this baylor team could be scary good in December

If she can be more consistent this baylor team could be scary good in December She’s settling into a completely new role for this squad. She’s gone from averaging about 6 attacks per set to over 10 now. It’s gonna come down to learning to manage her swings, which I think this Baylor coaching staff will help her do. Simpson was a pleasant surprise yesterday after her first match. If she and Harrison can be a consistent duo, this will for sure be a dangerous Baylor team come postseason.
