The last two years really came down to first round match ups.
This year's team was MUCH stronger all around than last year, yet last year's team had a better match up against MSU. Crazy that MSU was second in the SEC last season, and Hawaii beat them in 5. This year, LSU was seventh, and a better Hawaii team this season lost 3-1. If you break down the personnel on the opposing side, it's easy to see why that was the case.
Still, I thoroughly enjoyed this season's team.
Hawaii NEEDS to win their preseason games tho. 2019 earned a national seed because they did amazing pre-conference notching wins over big time programs. I believe next year's team can do the same, which will help them avoid this hard first round match ups.

May have been stronger all around but no one clutch like BVS of last year. Hopefully the Wahine can get that kind of player - fiery and clutch hitters like Danielson, Otineru, etc. All those 3 were all around little dynamites! Maybe the international coming in can provide that? Definitely need to upgrade tho - serving, passing, height, speed .... maybe some things they should have tried out during conference season. Oh well ...

Oh wow! Unfortunately with social media in the hands of any Tom, Dick and Harry (or maybe Tina, Diane and Karen) things like this will happen. But I agree with Erik, win with class and I’ll add at least keep that in your locker room without blaring it out to the world lol

LSU must have had no confidence in their team going in if they asking what happened to Hawaii. Common trash talk, low class, but who really is a fan of LSU volleyball anyway.

I’m usually ok with teams posting things on social media to poke fun, but yeah that wasn’t cute.
Do better LSU.

Apparently it’s a tiktok trend, though I’m not big on TikTok, guess they were trying to be viral. Meh, they kinda choose the wrong thing to make that trend though since it is tasteless
Edit: just saw the post above lol

Well... I wasn't going to care who was going to play between LSU and Stanford. But Go Stanford!

FWIW, the "What Happened" line is a popular meme that actually originated with a special needs kid and went viral (he can be seen in the video above). Now losing teams are getting lit up on social media with "whaaaa happened" posts all over the place. I'm not saying it's cool or right, just noting where it came from.

Shame on @lsuvolleyball. I was going to root for them tonight, but I'm now switching to root for Stanford to steamroll them.

Honestly, I tuned in to the match toward the tail end and was thinking the same thing : "What happened?" 🤔

Most of us are not the target audience for LSU's TikTok lol. Just let it go old fogeys.

I think the rotation with Akana, Tiff, and Caylen was a tough rotation. Was it just me or I didn’t see any pipe attacks. Wish it was done more to let Wags hit. I felt we were close but when Amber was not on the front row and no longer on the floor Hawaii would lose a couple points in a row and just siding out became a struggle.
Honestly would love for Onye to come to Hawaii even if just a year.
Go bows! Next year!
