If anyone's looking for me, I'll be in a corner crying over Chinn. She was just finding her groove both offensively and blocking 😭😭😭

Finally got a chance to watch the Louisville match and I see where Chinn got injured.
In set 3, at 1-0, Chinn goes up to block Debeer on the outside and comes down on Debeer's foot. After, she was wincing really bad and could barely get off the net to prepare to hit. She touched out the next few points and even the rest of the game, but you can tell she was in pain.
I'm thinking (hoping) it's some kind of sprain and we get her back sometime in conference play.

She was sitting on the sidelines in a boot. that’s just great… 😭 Probably a “better safe than sorry“ type of boot. It’s a long season and it was an opportunity to see what Rastovski & Meyers can do with regular rotations. There was a little bit of ‘deer in the headlights’ situations, but for sure an opportunity to show whether or not they are viable backup options going into conference play. Which as everyone is quite aware…does not equate to Xavier. Meyers hs a ways to go. Rastovski was OK.

Against Northern Kentucky:
Koch is back in the line-up at OPP. Chinn is standing on the sidelines, not dressed, in a boot.

Oof rotation 1 with Koch and Ellis is going to be a nightmare. Northern Kentucky is on a 6-0 run.

7-1 run from NKU all because of passing. Even subbing Hornung in early to play the front row didn't help.

That was such an ugly rotation. It was hard to watch. We really need to find an answer to that rotation. Mess around with different subs. We cannot be like that against any Big Ten team. Raven Colvin really flipped a switch and took the game over in Set 3. The whole team was feeding off of her.

Raven Colvin really flipped a switch and took the game over in Set 3. The whole team was feeding off of her. Such an ugly rotation. Problem is, we could side out (sometimes) last year in that rotation because (A) Newton was a more experienced passer than Hudson currently is so Purdue could pass with her and Otec and (B) they could flirt with different passing formations that would have Cleveland run a slide and keep Ellis/Chinn/Koch on the left. Now, they have to pass with 3 because of inexperience and Ellis can't pass. Koch can't pass. Chinn can kind of pass but she's hurt. And teams are automatically gonna go away from Schermerhorn (who passes the middle of the court) in that rotation.

Purdue takes set 1 against Ball State (25-11)
Chinn is dressed, but Koch is starting at OPP.

Purdue makes the comeback to win set 2 (25-23)
Way, way, way too many errors on Purdue's side that set.
