Great press conference with Coach Shondell this week where he touches on a lot of things I was thinking about after that Ball State game: 1. It wasn't a great passing performance, which limited Renner a lot. It became the Eva Hudson Show out of necessity instead of giving Renner an opportunity to get the ball to others. 2. Missed connections with the middles. It was really bad on Saturday. The passing didn't help, but there were plays in transition where rhe sets to the middle were all over the place. 3. Renner is doing great, but needs to be more aggressive in the front row. She's really good at attacking on the 2nd ball and I'd love to see it more, especially since she's playing against the queen of dumping (Shaffmaster) on Friday. Bonuses: 4. Chinn is back! Loved Coach Shondell's comments on the kind of player she's become this season and why she's needed on the floor. 5. Meyers/Rastovski are really stepping it up. Thanks for sharing this. I was wanting to watch the press conference this week.

Other than the radio spots he does with Kyle Shondell following the match, I don't think Coach Shondell does post-match press conferences. Those are usually on Monday.

Once again, Ali Hornung had herself a match last night. Every game, she's getting better and better at left back. She's covering so much ground and making big time plays.
I'm really loving watching her, along with Schermerhorn, who has thoroughly wiped clean all those doubts I had about her. Her leadership on the court is great.
I can't wait to see how those two, plus Brown and Torrance, are going to look by November. They're carrying a big load with their passing, serving, and defense.

Both teams had some great plays that were just pancakes. It was great to see on both sides…more so on Purdues side lol.

Shondell spinning plates and juggling a winner, I think people need to realize Grace Balensiefer was a standout setter for four years in her conference. She runs that floor with more confidence ans range than Renner currently does. Also, I was at the Tennessee game where she came in for Renner -- she gets up there to block. She's not as big of a liability as you'd assume because of her height.

As of today, Eva Hudson is hitting .326 on the season (5 kills per set) with 75 digs and 27 blocks as a 6-rotation, passing OH.
THANK YOU, MIKE JOHNSON!

Another great press conference with Coach Shondell! He really shines some insight into the Iowa game. I loved him talking about Hornung and what she's brought to the team this year, especially her performance yesterday. It's also great to hear him breakdown the decisions when it came to where Purdue decided to play Torrance (middle back) versus Brown (right back) in the Iowa match. No update on Schermerhorn's status as of yet, but hopefully she's back on Friday. A brief explanation about Chinn/Ellis switch on Sunday. Lots of discussion about Balensiefer, her role, and what she's contributed. Also, fun talks about what other fans shout at Coach Shondell during matches

He mentions that we can imagine who they might be. Any idea who he’s hinting at? I’m going to guess Rothe, but I don’t know where her recruitment stands. Clearly he’s wanting to pursue a middle with the 2024 class with all of the pins coming in next season.

The timeline worked out that Trammell transferred, and then Chicoine committed within weeks (don't remember the exact dates).
