Last year I think 5 of their 12 or so were seniors or graduate students so this makes sense to me?

They only had 12 in the fall and 5 were seniors. The one other player off the roster is a middle who only appeared in one match.

Would need to know how many scholarships are being used for incoming student-athletes before opining.

Read the news section and you will see that have a transfer in Chelsey Harmon that is not listed on the roster. They also do not list any frosh, and they include Virginia Gatorade player of the Year Akasha Anderson as well as Sarah Morton, Madison Scheer, Bel Zimmerman and Kendal Kemp.
That would increase the roster size to 12, enough for a good practice.

Didn't players quit from Fall 2020 --> Spring 2021 too? Thus Auburn decided they couldn't even field a team in Spring 2021

OMG, first I'm seeing this. If things are dire, it's so sad that he dragged Washington alumni down with him. I loved Kelcey Dunaway and her husband Rick was active in the club scene in Seattle. At least he's still a daddy.....

How many incoming players have been offered scholarships. If that number is "6" then there aren't any left for the four who graduated/left with Covid eligibility left.

The team literally forfeited an entire season this calendar year because they didn't have enough players to field a team. They weren't squeezing players out for lack of scholarships.

They weren't squeezing players out for lack of scholarships. According to wonkaman above, they have six incoming players. Are they all getting scholarships? They had 5 incoming freshman. One is a transfer who got benched at a 5-20 WCC school last year. So that's be 11 scholarships accounted for under your most expansive thoughts, but then you're assuming 3 different DS' are on scholarship. They had scholarships available to retain starters, instead 5 starters (incl. 4 w/eligibilty remaining) are leaving.
