Luper wasn't injured last season and is fully healthy now. I expect opposing blockers will have about as much success as they did in her freshman season... Her contact point is just too high. The difference is that she'll be passing every ball as teams try to grind her down but in my opinion she is the best OH in the Pac. Baird is really good and actually passed much better than I thought on the season on A LOT of attempts. Baird is a star and might have a better season than Luper on a Stanford team that could be very good in 2022 but she doesn't have the all around game that Luper does. As a freshman Luper was one of the best A6 defenders in the conference.

Maybe no Fleck and McCall? As in the two together? McCall will be there, by herself. Holding it down, by herself. Passing nails, by herself. Sorry, missed that McCall will actually be back, so that definitely helps. I guess that means the focus is on the L position and what Fleck's replacement looks like. With only one libero on the roster I’d assume UCLA is looking for some transfers. Does anyone know if there are any good liberos/DS’s left in the portal?

If Luper is healthy and Nday can play to her potential UCLA will be scary good. LUPER is hands down the most exciting player to watch in NCAA. She’s 5’9 but plays so BIG. Forte and Dodson will be the best 1-2 MB in the pac and one of the top MB pairings in the country. I think only Nebraska can compete with that MB paring.

Strongly agree on this-- Ndiaye inconsistency has been tough for me because when she's on, she's on. Now I'm excited to see a Forte/Ndiaye block form against opponents.

Yes a UCLA 2022 thread!
Truly think if anything Luper is the most athletic OH in the PAC by a decent margin, if the Libero situation is situated with someone solid, this could be an aggressively good defensive team both at the net and floor defense.
Hoping they can take the conference title next season.

OH: McCall, Luper OPP: Ndiaye MB: Forte, Dodson S: McKissock L: McCarthy??
depending on how the L performs, this could be a very formidable lineup if they get it together. They'll have depth at the pins too.
Stanford, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, USC, Washington State, Arizona State, Colorado (??) will all be formidable, though I think the first four will be in contention for the championship. should be a dogfight, as usual.

Wouldn’t put it past me to have Olson as one of the OH and McCall as the libero

What about some of the other recent OH/OPP recruits last year and this coming year?
