surprised there's no mention of carol, or if its just she's finally emerging as truly world class I didn’t think Carol was at that level until this season. we’ll see how she maintains it too.

talking to a coworker today about 'once in a generation' players (albeit different sport) and that got me wondering...what would the roster look like or each position if we listed the best 'once in a generation' players that are actively playing right now? i know who that would be for OPP (well, multiple players), but not so sure about other positions. I don’t think there are currently generational players at every position playing right now. If we’re talking about generational players for each country… S: ? MB: Eda (and honestly maybe Zehra) OH: Gray?, Zhu (if she’s not done), Mihajlovic. Don’t agree with Gabi here. OPP: Egonu, Boskovic, Haak L: Castillo or De Gennaro hmmm is Brankica really once in a generation? Obviously I love her and am a big Stan but I’m trying to be unbiased. I guess she really has won a ton with her NT and been a big reason why. And if nothing else that arm is a generational thing haha

For both Carol and Gabi, neither being named is more of a testament to past Brazilian players than a knock to either of them

Then you have to add Maja and Rasić for serbia who will be back to club eventually

In my opinion, It's going to be Italy vs Serbia all over again. Serbia's floor defense improved by a lot and that's scary if you have 4 world-class Middles(Aleksic-Stefanovic[my new favourite]- M. Popovic - Stefanovic) and one of the best Opposite in the World Boskovic.
But of couse, it's gonna boil down on how Maja(the best setter in the world imho) will play because she runs this team really well(altho there are rumors that she's going to retire.)

Same with Thaisa i will grudgingly admit.
