Rider's serving pressure was mediocre at best, but Grimmer legitimately looked good in the backrow. We will see how it holds up against better serving teams, but I am very much encouraged by her performance.

Other than Whitney Bower, she was probably the best player on the floor.

I thought Llarenas had a nice match too. She looks very good. That said, Prior is clearly a very talented middle as well.

Yeah, Llarenas was really good too, but I expected that after seeing how great she looked in the scrimmage. Also, I didn't realize that she has another year of eligibility left after this one, even though she's been on the team since 2018. I was under the impression that BYU would need to replace both middles after this season, but Llarenas having another year makes that a lot easier. Great job by Olmstead to talk her out of transferring.

She's been a good passer since she was a freshman, and I thought she was the best pin passer in last week's scrimmage, which was a relief, as Livingston looks uncomfortable passing, and is going to be targeted, as she was today in the 2nd set. I'm hopeful she'll get better and not plateau during the season. Also, she still does not look comfortable on the back-row attack. She hits high but a but behind her head (if that makes sense), which isn't translating to a good back-row swing. Maybe with time.

Yeah, Livingston's back row attack was a bit erratic today, which I hope was just nerves. She looked better with it in the scrimmage.

So hard to tell against teams like this...but I enjoyed watching. I think E. Livingston will grow into her role. Clearly not comfortable...yet.

A Morgan Bower to Whitney Bower to Eden Bower play. You don't often see three sisters on the court together. (the Simpson sisters did it briefly at Colorado, I think.)
Duke has a 24-20 set point in the third.
