To talk about volleyball and the BYU team, as they deserve, impressive win over Washington State!
I do think when Grimmer's passing holds up, BYU will be hard to beat and when she passes well BYU looks good.
I’ve always thought Kate was a good defender because she has quick reflexes, and it was on full display tonight. I really applaud her for how she stuck with the team after losing her starting spot to a transfer in All-American. She is ready and playing her heart out now that she has the chance.

Yeah, and despite whatever happened, BYU volleyball is good and had nothing to do with that, so I hope they get noticed in a good way for being good! Thank you for saying this.

That's a good point. I did forget to mention how good I thought she looked in right back defense. Really solid all night.

It's not about me being right or wrong. I only said that because I was trying to explain that I'm merely making an assessment of what I've seen so far, which is, of course, only based on the scrimmage and two matches they've played. What else would I base it on at this point? My statement was not meant to be an assessment of the entire season, and I was a bit frustrated that you took it that way. However, this reminds of the 2019 season-opening tournament they hosted, when they lost to Marquette in the final, and it was because they could not pass well enough to keep their offense from being completely predictable. They got better in the ensuing weeks, but that first weekend was rough. I don't see this team improving prohibitively in one day. Hopefully that better explains my original statement.
I think this team is probably better than the 2019 team, but we'll see. And I never said you were assessing the entire season. You said that you don't think they can beat Washington State tonight. I'm saying I'm not convinced that's the case. We'll find out soon enough. bbg95, I didn't realize how mentally and physically tired and testy I was Friday night. My reaction to what you said was clearly overblown. My apologies. Additionally, I had the thought at some point on Saturday that I might be confusing Pittsburgh and Washington State because I watched some of both of their matches and was trying to do too many things that day for my mind to keep it straight. Sure enough, when I was watching Saturday's match, I knew right away that I had been picturing Pittsburgh in my mind instead of Washington State, so what I said had no validity anyway.
