Over enthusiastic players make me nervous. One never knows when someone may pull a Rettke and accidentally hit a teammate in celebration. Yeah, I'm the same. Florida players went a little nuts after routine plays. Are we supposed to root for that? Enthusiasm makes the game so much more fun to watch. Ever watch a good team with no heart or energy? It's a snooze fest. Even when they're making great plays. I love FL's dynamic excitement.

I’d be more concerned if they weren’t having fun & playing with no enthusiasm..

Watching the replay right now, and two Freshmen playing will be in the running for National Freshmen of The Year. Elia Rubin from Stanford and Alexis Stucky from Florida. To not only be on the starting 6 for a Top 15 program, but be a key component and excel at your position is mind boggling! Rubin with some nasty swings on the out and defensive ups reminding me a little of Stanford great Logan Tom. Stucky's poise and location just money for Florida's hitter's and helps to run that offensive machine for the Gators.

Crazy to think I was saying the exact same things about Miner last year. Then a new bauble comes along and I'm all agog about the newest craze. I want to make it clear I STILL think wonderful things about Miner, but no one is going on and on about her after this match, including me.

I was impressed how Stucky was able to locate her hitters from literally anywhere on the court. She’s got a bright future. Florida is lucky to have Stucky. I’ll see myself out now.

Considering she's still not 100% from her surgery and playing like that, leaves me certain she will be in the convo for that. I've seen many setters across the years, and while I too am high on Miner (she may be the best setter in the country), Stucky will be a gem for the Gators for years to come.

Agreed on all of that.
I was stunned how good Florida looked given they only have the one junior in the rotation.

Yeah, saw her breathing heavily during a timeout, so her fitness level isn't quite where it needs to be after the injury.

Go Stanford! They win in 5, 15-10 with a kill by Francis. What a close match. Kill by Francis is a generous description (even if technically it was correct) 🤣 I said it was eighth-grade volleyball. Perhaps I should have said sixth-grade.
