I can see the top half beating each other up all season. And a few upsets from the bottom half.

Baby girl... he's running a %*$#ty 6-2 to apiece a 9 year program member (Izzy) ... he has Shrek, which clearly is unstoppable in the middle, trying to run her on RS like she's doing something there... Has the best potential Libero (Orzol) and likely one of the best freshman OH's (Wrobel) riding the pine and yet he chooses this garbage line up... Are we really going to depend on 80 swings from Franklin every match, 40 of which will be out or blocked... he's not a visionary, lacks the fortitude, that's very apparent. Winning a national championship as nothing to do with the coach, just look at Jerrod Elliot... You're panicking. If you don't pass, it doesn't matter if Smrek is in the middle, she's not getting the ball. And when teams find out that Hart and CC can't hit of two feet on the RS, they know we're going to her anyway. Rettke and Hilley bailed us out so often because they could run a slide on a pass to the 10' line. That opened up the court for Smrek. They need to get the passing together before Smrek can be a threat from the middle. In the mean time, she has to learn to hit out of the right side. Hart and CC run slides; they don't hit off two feet on the right. |

Weird to me that no one is mentioning blocking - WI’s block was non-existent. We’ve talked setter, liberos, Smrek, but the blocking difference was the real culprit here. Agree. We had a hard time getting MN OOS. I think we were erroring a lot early and didn't continue to apply service pressure. OOS, we block. In system, it's challening. |

We had a hard time getting MN OOS. I’m not sure I agree with that, but it seemed like they were getting an absurd number of kills when they were OOS. It seemed like every good serve that got Shaffmaster setting (or even bumping) from way deep resulted in a kill… from the 10’ line. |

Wait Orzol as libero for Wisc? Is this something Sheffield has actually thought of? My guess is it will probably go to Shanel after her 14 games, but hmm. Not when she's hitting 0.305 on the season. Moving her to libero would be idiocy. That’s kinda what I was thinking, but I mean at this point her passing seems better than GG. |

I agree, Wisc has the best front line but if you can get it past the front line your chances of success go up especially with capable hitters like Minnesota. |

Saw concern on Kelly's face for the first time last night. I expect him at some point this season to just say fuk it! Im gonna put Franklin, Orzol, Devyn, Wrobel, CC and Smrek on the court at the same time and see if these fukkers can deal with that heat.

Saw concern on Kelly's face for the first time last night. I expect him at some point this season to just say fuk it! Im gonna put Franklin, Orzol, Devyn, Wrobel, CC and Smrek on the court at the same time and see if these fukkers can deal with that heat. So Wrobel is your savior then? Everyone else you mentioned already seeing extensive PT in the 6-2. |

What osnt she doing in practice?? |

Reason: While the top half still has (or reloaded) great front row hitters, they lost a significant number of quality, experienced setters and Libero/DSs. Well, duhhh. If your serve-receive becomes inconsistent and your setting location/tempo/decision-making is not quite like it used to be, those great hitters are not going to be getting the ball like they used to. And that's exactly what we're seeing and will continue to see for much of this year. |

If it’s a matter of not doing something in practice, I’m guessing it’s passing better than other options. If she needs more work in that area, she’s ought to be considering a redshirt year (assuming she hasn’t burned it already). |
