If y’all can snag Parra out of the portal that’ll be HUGE. international experience as a 6 ro OH & just won a natty. With Dodson back the coaching staff needs to get some transfers

It worked for Sherridan Atkinson 😉

This is by far one of the best things a new coach could have going for him during a transition.

OK, done with other UCLA threads. Will stay here now. I'm guessing UCLA budgeted about $165k for this hire. This is a great hire for that type of budget. And given the final candidate's relatively sparse CV, I'm also guessing they closed this deal at under $150k. You would be VERY wrong I agree. There is now way Alfee is not in the $200k to $250k salary range to start. Good resume and a great hire, in my opinion. Excited to see who joins him on the coaching staff.

I never understood why Sealy was having so much trouble at UCLA achieving a record of success. What were the problems under his leadership? I cannot wait to see what Reft can do there. What's not to like about UCLA?

What's not to like about UCLA? He was having a lot of bad luck with injured setters and recruiting over them vs bringing them back to and past their potential

Plenty of their recruited setters transferred and had flourishing careers. They recruited top ranked setters. Ucla problems were much much deeper

Well you are welcome to answer the question in detail. All I’m saying is that a good chunk of his tenure, his recruited setters had injuries that impacted the team. I’m sure there’s more to it…I’m just putting out one factor that definitely didn’t help.
