I thought Gabi was approved to join Team USA, and was heir apparent for the opposite position? When is that meant to take effect?

I thought Gabi was approved to join Team USA, and was heir apparent for the opposite position? When is that meant to take effect? He’s still in his probationary period. According to Speraw, he’ll be able to compete “next year,” so I assume that means next VNL, as well as the Olympics right after |

I’m slightly surprised that Knight didn’t get invited. In my opinion, it seemed like Knight was out passing Champlin this season.
