If the biggest change is Santarelli, youāre telling me you would have chosen Santa over Vargas if you could only have one? Questionable. Of course they would win games but breaking points could be hard. Turkiyeās managed to win even when they were playing bad or when theyāre behind. (With or without Vargas in VNL too) With Guidetti they would completely shut down in those situations before. |

And I'm a big fan of the middles + Gizem. I like Hande most days too. But the coaching change, while good for morale and getting Gizem to come back, doesn't do what bringing in Vargas does. |

Santarelli is good but with Vargas, Guidetti would have won as well. Questionable. Of course they would win games but breaking points could be hard. Turkiyeās managed to win even when they were playing bad or when theyāre behind. (With or without Vargas in VNL too) With Guidetti they would completely shut down in those situations before. Turkey has not managed to win anything without Vargas. Literally ever. |

Guidetti did not have a chance to field Vargas. What has changed in Turkey is the mentality but it has little to do with Santarelli. The Turkish players rely on Vargas and know that they can turn things around at any time. Until Vargas arrived one of Turkey's limitations is that when things went wrong the players became discouraged. Now that doesn't happen anymore. And this is because of the presence of Vargas not Santarelli. |

You know, when you add a certain player to a team, it can easily make other players better (or at least appear better), right? Nobody is saying Vargas is the only good player on the Turkish team. If you've read this board long enough, you know there's plenty Eda Erdem (and to a lesser extent, Gunes). But anyone looking at the Turkish team and NOT seeing that THE SINGLE biggest difference is in Vargas, not the other changes, then, they're simply wrong. Period. Of course because of her position it looks like that. Sheās the opposite and she needs to carry the highest points like in most of the teams. The only thing I donāt like is when people act like Turkiye wasnāt a good team before Vargas. they were a good team, now with all the changes theyāre a better team. If you ask me the biggest change is Santarelli. Turkiye would have still flopped in a 5 setter or high pressure games if Guidetti was still coaching them. He destroyed the teamās morale and confidence any way he could. come on, no way turkey would have beat us in VNL finals without vargas, even with Santarelli, Ze, JLP, Karch, etc. on the coaching staff.
