Serbian fans bitter tbh. I dunno if they would talk about Italy is having 2 best Opposites being Russian and Nigerian if Italy had won. is this a serious comment? You really think Egonu being Nigerian is the same situation as Vargas ? LOL you all will try and find anything to try and make it sound like it isn’t stupid When a person is born in Italy, (raised in Italy), aren’t they Italian?!

yall are exhausting on every single site. - Vargas is naturalized. Cool. She's playing for Turkey now.
- It is a fact that Turkey with Vargas is a different team than without her.
- Her situation is not the same as Antropova's. Does it matter? no
- Comparing her to Egonu is just flat out racist.
did i miss anything? can yall stop doing this every single day on every part of the internet? its exhausting.
Saying her situation is different than Antrapova shows great source of racism. On paper, it's same. According to objective rules, it's same. When a white Russian moves to Italy for better future, sure no problem. Then a black Cuban moves to Turkey, let's make it specific. Lol.

She is competing for NT for the first time in her career in Italy. She was not exiled/banned from Russia. Vargas's situation is different. Comparing her to Antropova has no basis other than they're competing for teams different than their ethnic origin (which is fine). Im not taking comments from someone about racism when you just compared Egonu to Vargas by being "nigerian". you are being ridiculous.

The law for Italian citizenship is among the stupidest in the world. Leaving aside the politics, immigrants (non-EU) can get it after 10 years of residence. If they apply for it. After that, automatically, minor children get citizenship.

Are you sure you know how to read? According fivb rules, every team can have 1 neutralization. Both Turkey and Italy have it with Vargas and Antrapova. So, it's same. Antrapova started to play volleyball before her parents moved to Italy btw.

Vargas is playing for Turkey right now because she was banned in Cuba... if she wasnt banned, she'd be playing for Cuba. Antropova is not the same. Who cares where she started to play volleyball. Thats not the point. Anyways. This is stupid. Adios

* Enough like if Vargas this or Vargas that, she is undoubtedly a star and she chose to contribute to the team more than willingly and she became `Vargas` in Turkey not sure in Cuba she would improve this much. * People trying to undermine Turkey, like magically they happened to be there because of Vargas. (They played every semi-final/final last 5 Eurovolley, 1 with Vargas)

Egonu in, Mazzanti + Antropova out! Antropova is 20 years old. This is perfectly fine. Then, frankly, I don't know which coach could save this Italy. The group itself is not working. In fact THIS Italian team had a chance to win however it did not. The team lacks adrenaline. THIS is hopefully one of Mazzanti's last games. They must do it quick, though, and replace him with either Bregoli, Musso or Santarelli himself. Italy could really miss the Olympics with THIS mess of a group... Malinov/ Egonu, Pietrini/ Omoruyi, Fahr/ Lubian, Moki (plus Bosio, Malual, Gardini, Piva/Bosetti, Cecconello, Squarcini, Fersino) is what Italy needs to work on, while trying to understand what's Antropova's use. Egonu deserves sets/ consideration/ respect. Antropova can be used sometimes in the VNL or at the Mediterranean Games

Citizenship doesn’t go to those born in the country, regardless of where their parents were born? I’m sincerely asking.

Citizenship doesn’t go to those born in the country, regardless of where their parents were born? I’m sincerely asking. Not in Italy. In Italy, the law is based on IUS SANGUINIS, or descent. Just to make half a joke, with some exceptions, one could define Argentines as Spanish-speaking Italians. Of course there are time limits, but all descendants of Italians could claim Italian citizenship. For Italians in the U.S., it is a little different because until the early 1900s, the Italian who applied for U.S. citizenship saw his or her rights forfeited. The reason why such a law exists in Italy is easily guessed if you consider these facts and draw the direct consequences: - 100k+ immigrants from Africa enter Italy every year - Italy has some of the lowest wages in Europe - As soon as an immigrant has Italian citizenship he becomes an EU citizen and (from that moment, not before) can move freely around the EU. As a note, Egonu's parents now live in the UK and Sylla's family in Luxembourg.
Edit: Other note: It is also in order to be able to roam freely in the EU that some players apply for Italian citizenship. For example, Rosamaria Montibeller or Marko Podrascanin
