I predict that O'Neal plays and Texas beats a hot and cold Gophers squad in 5 sets. But man will I celebrate if the Gophs take it! I hope Wenaas gets a nice hand from the crowd. I don’t think O’Neal’s playing… she wasn’t in any of the pics of the girls practicing that was posted today. But that could also be purposely done for people like me that were looking for that. |

If Texas figures out it’s serving, we’ll be able to hang. Of course passing and setting looked sketchy at times, but our blocking looks much improved from the start of last year if we can get our servers. There were stretches when we looked scary. I’m not ready to conclude that we’re as far behind as some of you others are. Personally.

Texas needs to aggressively target Wucherer and Landfair with serve if they want to win. Especially seam between the two when possible. Not groundbreaking strategy, but the passing by those two, despite Minnesota's results, was really quite poor on the weekend.

I’m not ready to conclude that we’re as far behind as some of you others are. Personally. I think it’s bringing it together, passing would look good in stretches and hitters just couldn’t terminate, serving looked weak at times and the block and defense couldn’t compensate. Serving would step up and the passing would break down. I’m still optimistic the individual components are there it’s just a matter of how long before it all starts coming together. I’m an optimist and hope it comes together tomorrow night, but if doesn’t I just hope to see some improvement and will believe it will come together in time for the tournament. |
