Sorry but Minnesota’s ds doesn’t even come close to having the same impact that O’Neal has to Texas. No one said she did. Point is: Teams are always dealing with stuff. But not of the same significance as Texas right now.

Challenge Day! May the better team win. We will be at the PAV and I know that it will be very loud.

Gophers sweep. Texas looks like a mid-major atm. Without the best middle in the country so calm down
your record of 25-22, 25-22, 25-19 against another mid-major team is not particularly impressive.
In case you are saying you don't have depth?

Do texas fans really believe having ONeal back in the starting lineup will make that huge of a difference? She is probably the best player in the country right now but they are currently a team with really middling passing, pins that are struggling terminate (Skinner is great but struggles OOS), absolutely no right side offense and an inconsistant freshman setter... idk if a few good block touches and maybe 10 off balance sets to ONeal can save the team.. Anyways go gophers

Like they would even be able to set her with that passing anyways 😭 Her block and block touches make up for it. Don't forget her serve

Do texas fans really believe having ONeal back in the starting lineup will make that huge of a difference? Yes. It would make a big difference, psychologically. Asjia is an incredibly good leader on the floor. She's a calming presence when thing are down, and capable of making the big plays that fire a team up. From a hard-skills perspective, she brings a lethal slide which opens up the offense for pin hitters and a tough serve. Defensively, there's the block and she's arguably one of the best MBs at floor defense. I'm not saying she could single-handedly carry a team, but she takes enough pressure off of others so that they can play more effectively.

As a volleyball fan, I would much rather play Texas with a healthy O’Neil… but as a Gopher fan, I’m fine if she needs some more time to heal up 😊
I always look forward to playing Texas and this should be another fun one! I was expecting this one would be another Texas W but getting out blocked by LMU and now facing the brick wall that is Awoleye doesn’t look very promising for the longhorns. Wenaas could also go off on MN because of her familiarity with the team or it could be the exact opposite. Gonna be an interesting match!

Wenaas wasn't playing OH for a reason...and her passing leaves a lot to be desired.

You realize she can't hit at all if Texas doesn't pass, right? You are grossly over-estimating her ability to influence a match when the other pieces are not there. Molly doesn't hit OOS. Wenaas doesn't hit OOS. No one is passing...like at all. Calming presence aside...there's not much she can do if Texas doesn't figure out floor d and passing. And I've said it for years since she was at NE, but Akana is not a superior passer and more often than not was covering a fraction of the court because other players around her were really good.

They look a little lost without her which I wasn’t expecting. It’ll be interesting to see her hit off of Swindle though when she is healthy, I haven’t been impressed with her setting so far… but it’s early, she’s a freshman and O’Neil is a vet so there’s lots of room for improvement

It's pretty obvious that MB is currently an area where we don't have enough depth, with 2 scholarship players injured

I know Texas started slow but they have all the weapons needed to win tonight's match, imo.
I, for one, am not overlooking them. I have a feeling they will step up and bring it. I hope the home crowd and some confidence boosting defense will narrowly edge the Gophers to a win. Let's go Gophers! 〽️

Texas is clearly the worst team in the nation so I don’t know why y’all are so pressed about Texas fans anxiously awaiting the best player in the country’s return, when all she does it get some block touches, according to yall🤣

Just so you know, I rate teams on a week-to-week basis. If you manage to defeat the Gophers, I will promptly move you back to the top 5 from mid-major.
