Wow. Those are the kinds of numbers I was hoping for. Actually, I would have been satisfied with something slightly lower. Sunday at 2pm is a choice, but man. ABC. I’m so excited. And Texas-Nebraska is probably the best matchup from a ratings standpoint. I mean, Nebraska and anyone is better than two teams not Nebraska, but I think Texas arguably is the biggest ratings draw from the rest of the field. Ironically, Channel 8 (ABC affiliate) in Dallas and DirectTV are having a negotiation impasse so the game won't be available on air to DirectTV customers in DFW unless it is resolved before then. Been going on for about 3 weeks, at least before the Big 12 championship game with Okie State. Fortunately you should be able to stream it on WatchESPN with your DirectTV access as that's how I watched the Big 12 championship. I couldn’t catch the Alabama-Georgia game on the local CBS affiliate for a similar reason over at my Mom’s house. I don’t know if that one got resolved. Those have to be some brutal negotiations.

You don’t get it, it doesn’t matter what the outcome of the match on the 24th is, Nebraska is the reason a vast majority will watch. . . not a team of portal players…. the team with 4 freshman, 1 sophomore, 2 juniors and no seniors will be the reason most people will watch-the team that makes Sports Center’s nightly top plays; get mad all you want, but it’s true . . . 💯 But you all know that.. 🏐
Oh. It's no longer true. Sad.
Did not age well. . .sorry But I did see Sheffy scurrying around the banquet this morning looking for AAs he can poach to Wisconsin… I assume he’ll make sure his next class of poachees will be better able to return serve than the remedial level this group does… Chucky will have a difficult time next fall unless Wisconsin can pass better than they did at that shank show last night… this is, after all the final group of 24 year-old Covid players Sheffy will be able to lure away from their real schools with his NIL checkbook. . . We’ll see how it goes. I think it’s easier just to primarily fill your roster with high school recruits… but you know that… 4 freshman, 1 sophomore and 1 junior. . . 3:00 Sunday… 🏐

Nebraska x Pitt - 1,097,000 Wisconsin x Texas - 1,070,000 Need some perspective on these numbers. How do they compare with, say a North Carolina-Duke regular season basketball game? How about a non-NY6 football bowl game? How about a run-of-the-mill regular season NBA or NHL game on ESPN?

2021 MCBB (3pm): 277,000 (n/a)

Using The Price Is Right rules. (closest guess without going over) my guess is 1,599,995 viewers.

Using The Price Is Right rules. (closest guess without going over) my guess is 1,599,995 viewers. It's the national championship with Nebraska involved on ABC. I definitely think it outrates the Fox game from earlier. I'll say 2 million.

Final viewership was 1.69 million That’s down from the 1.8M of Wisconsin-Nebraska in 2021, right?

Final viewership was 1.69 million That’s down from the 1.8M of Wisconsin-Nebraska in 2021, right? that was 1.2 million. 1.66m for Wisc/MN+OSU/UM was the previous record

Final viewership was 1.69 million That historic beatdown, especially with Nebraska being the team getting the TCU treatment, surely had an impact on the number.
