Idk, I just watched a discombobulated Wisconsin still managed to beat them in 5. A fully functioning version of Wisconsin should sweep them, especially since the game was at the Field House. But UW was discombobulated by the very things I mentioned. You are just not giving them enough credit. On the day they played really well - except for all those HEs in the beginning of the match. When they cleaned that up and really got to exploiting the badger seams, and playing insanely well on defense, they made it hard to keep ahead of points. Lots of those Badgers seams were created by the fact that GG and Orzol were confused on whose ball/responsibility it was. That's not on their credit, because when we're fully functioning, there's no such confusion. And then that confusion became infectious, and sure they were able to take advantage of that, but the root of it is because we haven't had defined roles for our backrow yet this season.

Didn't say they were a problem just that they aren't good enough to compensate for GG.

Fully functioning? When does this magically occur? lol. They have had the foreign tour and several weeks now to train, learn and grow from last season. Are you referring to someone having an injury?

He's referring to lineup changes.

Are you saying this is our ceiling lmao? With multiple AA talents on the team, you're saying our ceiling is struggling to win in 5 at home against TN lol looking discombobulated and confused? Because if not, then this is not us fully functioning yet.

This team will never make a final four much less go further with GG passing 6 rotations.

Gulce has fatal flaws that haven't been improved upon since her abysmal showing in the Final Eight contest last season.

This team had a swing to go up 14-12 last year in the EE against Pitt in the fifth set with GG having a %*$#ty game also. At this point, idk if GG will ever pass better, but I have seen her pass better than this %*$# that she just did. However, Sheff constantly switching lineups is adding problems in defense that was not there last season. This is also partly on Sheff right now.

If I hadn't been at the Field House and just read the last four pages of this thread, I'd assume we were swept. Y'all need to cuddle a kitten or something.

In all fairness they shouldn't be ranked number 1 in the country though. They got ouplayed for about half of the contest. Only area of contest we were the better performer then Tennessee was in blocking and one more point overall..103-102

Lucky. That's not going to take them very far. I've resisted saying Sheff is stubborn to a fault, but I'm changing sides on that one. He doesn't know what to do with what he's got and doesn't seem to be able to work around what he doesn't have. With GG and our setting tandem we won't make it past the Elight Eight again this season. How much longer before Sheffield benches GG and gives Boyer and or Dammrow a look? (Another week of the same discussion! Yay!) How many kills in the 5th set were on GG taking second touch? At least three that I remember.

We can barely afford all of her errors though against the elite teams like Florida. Tennessee not in same league. The elements of her game that we know she is high level is OOS sets. We wouldn't be seeing Orzol if Sheffield isn't highly concerned with the passing/ serve receive of our libero.
