(Another week of the same discussion! Yay!) How many kills in the 5th set were on GG taking second touch? At least three that I remember. We can barely afford all of her errors though against the elite teams like Florida. Tennessee not in same league. The elements of her game that we know she is high level is OOS sets. We wouldn't be seeing Orzol if Sheffield isn't highly concerned with the passing/ serve receive of our libero. So much disrespect for a TN team that had the AVCA #1 on the ropes… |

Was there any word on where Dildine was today? I heard nothing about it on the radio postgame show.

I think this introduces another question: Did Sheff go on a shopping spree and buy something(s) he didn't need?
The Badgers needed Carter Booth. Did they need TTA more than a proven libero? For what? if the what is readily identifiable, then we're back to Mr. Earle's point. Kelly doesn't have this figured out. |

With Orzol at libero (and dsing TTA with GG) the passing rotations are
Franklin - Orzol - TTA
Franklin - Orzol - GG
With GG at libero (and dsing TTA with Orzol) it is
Franklin - GG - TTA
Franklin - Orzol - GG
Orzol is a better passer than GG. Yes GG has good OOS sets but you’re functionally trading 3 rotations of a better passer with 3 rotations of a good OOS setter. I think Franklin is good enough at taking out the trash that the OOS set is not worth the reception errors.

The benefit of having good depth is that you can make lineup adjustments. It's time to make some Libero adjustments. I was really hoping GG would show a nice jump from Year 1 to Year 2. Doesn't look like that is the case. Time to try some other folks. I like Orzel at Libero. But if you want her as a DS (in case we run out of subs), then try Reed, Boyer or Damrow. Can't continue to force a square peg into a round hole.
On the plus side, we did win the match. Too much doom and gloom on here. There is a learning curve as this team develops. It's great they can experience those growing pains and still win.

It’s easy to forget that we’ve played almost every match against a ranked opponent this far, except TCU. If we are having these same issues in the two matches later this week, then there might be a LOT more reason to be concerned. |

I didn't care for our middle defense... Tennesseee kept shoving it down our throats. Tennessee was very physical and took the no-@$$%*!* attitude Eve coaches with, and I like that. They'll be a Sweet 16 for sure.
I'm not sold Anna can do it on RS. Let's try Temi on the right..... GG was way off today....
Will Wrobel ever get a chance?? Ever??? Orzol just cannot put away balls at this level... Keep ker at Bro for passing purposes.... GG gets too tight in big matches.

PPPPooooint WizzKonzen Today Smrek has 7 kills and hit .500, four blocks. For the year so far, she's getting 2.2 kills per set, hitting .427, with just under a block per set. Franklin has 23 kills today and hit .352. Something she was doing was working... |
