DOM pulls it out 15-12 in the 5th. They really stayed patient offensively on some of those rallies. It wasn't a great effort by them tonight, but, they did just good enough with various personnel. Tough loss for Canada, this was very winnable for them. Hope is still not lost for Paris though - they did beat Netherlands who was slightly further ahead than DOM - and they can still win points here and at VNL 2024.

Who do you want to win? DR or Canada?

Ugh im so disappointed in the loss. I feel we could’ve done a lot more, especially defensively but just didnt make any adjustments. We couldnt afford to go 0-3 against the dominican this year, so its a big blow. The trinity western flops need to get their %*$# together
There is no reason our block should not be able to stop Gonzalez, DLC or Peña Isabel lmao. It sucks that that players don’t get the proper technical coaching they need from the nt staff to take the team up a notch.

I don't know, given the rather...uninspired win by DR, they are going to have a tough time against Serbia and China.

With a loss to the Czech, even splitting with Serbia/China wouldn't guarantee qualifying, so, their odds are slim here of getting 1 of those 6 tickets. Canada could have had a real shot with another win here, but now their odds are very slim too. I think for DR - their focus should be to win 3 more matches (UKR/MEX/SRB/CHN/NED). That will likely give them a good position going into VNL 2024. Even 2 wouldn't be horrible, but, there wouldn't be much breathing room especially if Canada pulls off an upset down the stretch. Belgium is out at this point - the only other threat is Germany, but I think the gap is still too far.

It’s easy for teams to get distracted, drawn in or even confused by their shenanigans.

As for DR, the schedule is tough, they are going to run out of gas if they keep this habit of dragging things out to a 5 setter...

Otherwise DR would be in the top tiers by now if they could more routinely beat those top teams, but we haven't seen that yet with DR.

But we weren’t talking about DOM being at the top of the rankings (or at least I wasn’t). We were talking about the potential outcome of a couple of upcoming matches, and predicting how DOM will perform is a fool’s errand imo.

Just my two cents.
