No idea why Fletcher was out, Barton hasn't played since the fourth set against UC Davis but doesn't seem to be using crutches or a brace. From the play by play Tulino and Haury were paired up in the 6-2 in set one and at least the early part of set two. Tulino had 1 kill and 3 errors I believe. The rest of the match the Huskies played a 5-1 with Wilson setting. Yesterday, in the game against LB State, Fletcher had 2 kills, 4 errors in 11 swings + 1 BS and 2 BA. Maybe she was not feeling well then.

It's impressive that they were u defeated against power houses like Fresno State, Colorado, Georgia, and Long Brach State. 🙄

It's impressive that they were u defeated against power houses like Fresno State, Colorado, Georgia, and Long Brach State. 🙄 Georgia and Fresno State were NCAA tournament teams last year, so it’s not like these teams are chop liver. Also, far more importantly, at least we won against these teams you disapprove of. How many other big teams took losses to teams that aren’t “power houses”. I have a list of them, and it ain’t pretty: Losses Illinois - Missouri Michigan - North Carolina Indiana - Notre Dame UCLA - Tennessee, UC Davis Ohio State - Wright State, South Florida MSU - Northern Colorado, Western Michigan Those are losses of teams possibly in that NCAA hunt from the Big 10. I don't see how any of the above teams came into the year expecting to be "better" than a team like Georgia or LBSU. I won't even touch the disaster of losses that teams like Rutgers, Maryland, and Northwestern have endured.

Take this with a big grain of strength of schedule salt, but the Huskies are now one of three undefeated teams among those in the top 25 or receiving votes. Pitt and Kansas are the others and Kansas is playing Creighton this weekend.

Based on SOS, I don't think any UW fans are doing cartwheels over this undefeated non-con sked.
But the team didn't make the tournament last year. LGab has had to undertake a "cupboard was left bare" rebuilding project; and the entire athletic dept. has been through what could easily be called upheaval.
The B1G schedule could end up being crushing for UW; but there seems to be a sense we're out of the ditch and back on hardtop now. That's progress I'm pretty excited about.
If they can make the tournament and win one game, I'll be even more excited. Anything beyond that will lead to cartwheels.

I was encouraged by Emoni Bush's performance:
Set 1: 1k/2e/11ta -.091, 1sa, 3bl Set 2: 2k/0e/4ta .500, 1sa Set 3: 6k/0e/10ta .600, 1sa, 1bl Set 4: 3k/1e/8ta .250, 1bl
For the last three sets:
11k/1e/22ta .455
Down two hitters, she stepped up, especially in Set 3. She is key to UW being competitive in-conference.

Hey Washington fans! I made a match thread for Saturday's match with Illinois. I usually prefer to hold off on making the thread until all preceding matches finish but it's a quick turnaround between Illinois matches this week and I wanted to get this one out there.

While I need Washington to win against Indiana, I'm also going to need Haworth to pop off for like 5 aces.... but then Bush return the favor with 5 aces of her own
